Key Responsibilities and Duties:

• Engine & Transmission Overhauls:

  • Disassembly: Systematically dismantling engines and transmissions, including removing cylinder heads, pistons, crankshafts, and torque converters.

  • Inspection & Measurement: Utilizing precision tools like micrometers and gauges to check parts for wear, damage, and compliance with factory specifications.

  • Rebuilding & Reassembly: Cleaning all parts in specialized solutions and replacing components like pistons, rings, bearings, gaskets, and seals.

  • Machining: Performing, or arranging for, cylinder honing, block boring, and crankshaft grinding.

• Diagnostics and Troubleshooting:

  • Fault Identification: Using computerized diagnostic equipment to identify internal malfunctions in engines and transmissions.

  • Performance Testing: Running tests to check for leaks, unusual noises, power loss, and proper pressure (e.g., oil pressure, transmission fluid pressure).

• Repair and Replacement:

  • Repairing or replacing worn or damaged parts, such as connecting rods, camshafts, and transmission bands.

  • Troubleshooting and repairing complex drivetrain components, including half-axles, driveshafts, and differentials.

• Maintenance and Technical Tasks:

  • Carrying out routine maintenance to ensure vehicle longevity, such as oil changes and fluid replacements.

  • Setting valve clearances and adjusting engine timing.

  • Welding broken parts and repairing hydraulic or electrical systems.

• Documentation and Safety:

  • Maintaining accurate logs of all work, parts used, and diagnostic results.

  • Adhering to all safety protocols regarding dangerous fluids, hazardous waste disposal, and OSHA regulations.

• Customer & Operational Support:

  • Providing technical advice and estimates to customers on repair costs and time.

  • Road-testing vehicles to ensure optimal performance post-repair
