∎ Experience: 1-2 years of experience in a mechanical maintenance role, preferably in an industrial or manufacturing environment. Familiarity with mechanical systems, such as hydraulics, pneumatics, and conveyor systems, is desirable.
∎ Technical Skills: Basic knowledge of mechanical components and tools. Ability to read and interpret basic mechanical drawings and manuals. Proficiency in using hand tools, power tools, and measuring instruments.
∎ Soft Skills: Strong attention to detail and problem-solving skills.Good communication and teamwork abilities. Willingness to learn and take direction from senior staff.
∎ Physical Requirements: Ability to lift heavy objects, work in confined spaces, and stand for extended periods. Comfortable working in an industrial environment with exposure to noise, dust, and varying temperatures.

Responsibilities & Context:
∎ Assisting in Maintenance and Repairs: Support senior mechanics and engineers in the maintenance and repair of mechanical equipment, including extrusion machines, casting furnaces, cooling tables, and hydraulic systems. Perform routine inspections of machinery to identify and report potential issues.
∎ Troubleshooting and Repairs: Assist in diagnosing and resolving mechanical faults in plant machinery. Replace or repair defective parts, such as gears, bearings, belts, and seals, under supervision.
∎ Preventive Maintenance: Carry out preventive maintenance tasks as per the maintenance schedule, including lubrication, cleaning, and minor adjustments. Ensure all maintenance activities are documented accurately.
∎ Equipment Operation Support: Assist in the setup and operation of mechanical equipment during production runs. Monitor equipment performance and report any abnormalities to supervisors.
∎ Safety and Compliance: Follow all safety protocols and guidelines while performing maintenance and repair tasks. Use personal protective equipment (PPE) and ensure a safe working environment. Report any safety hazards or incidents to the supervisor immediately.
∎ Inventory Management: Assist in maintaining an inventory of spare parts, tools, and equipment. Ensure tools and equipment are stored properly and are in good working condition.
∎ Documentation and Reporting: Maintain records of maintenance activities, repairs, and equipment performance. Provide input for reports on mechanical system status and issues.
∎ Team Collaboration: Work closely with other mechanics, engineers, and operators to ensure seamless plant operations. Follow instructions from senior staff and contribute to a positive team environment.
∎ Job Summary
∎ The Assistant Mechanic in the Mechanical Department will provide essential support in the maintenance, repair, and operation of mechanical systems and equipment within the Aluminium Profile Extrusion Plant. This role requires a hands-on approach, basic technical knowledge of mechanical systems, and the ability to work under the guidance of senior engineers and supervisors. The Assistant Mechanic will ensure the smooth functioning of machinery, minimize downtime, and contribute to the overall efficiency of the plant.
