• Master’s or Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or Business Administration (CA/CMA partly qualified preferred).

• Experience: Minimum 5–8 years of practical experience in VAT, preferably in garments or textile industries.
• Knowledge: Strong understanding of VAT Act 2012, VAT Rules 2016, and NBR circulars.

Job Responsibilities

• Ensure full compliance with VAT laws and regulations applicable to both the garments and textile sectors.
• Prepare, review, and submit monthly VAT returns accurately and on time.
• Maintain proper VAT documentation including purchase/sales registers, challans, and supporting invoices.
• Monitor and verify input VAT and ensure proper VAT credit adjustment as per NBR guidelines.
• Handle VAT audits, inspections, and queries from the VAT authority and coordinate responses effectively.
• Prepare VAT-related reports for management review and financial analysis.
• Ensure correct VAT deduction and deposit for all local and import transactions.
• Update and implement changes based on amendments in VAT laws and rules.
• Coordinate with internal departments (Accounts, Commercial, Production, etc.) to ensure smooth VAT compliance.
• Maintain communication with VAT consultants, customs, and tax authorities when necessary.
• Provide VAT guidance and training to relevant departments to enhance compliance awareness.
• Monitor proper use of VAT software (e.g., Mushak 6.3, 6.6, etc.) and ensure accurate data entry.
• Prepare reconciliation statements between accounts and VAT records regularly.
• Support management in VAT planning and risk minimization strategies.
• Ensure all export-related VAT and rebate claims are processed timely and accurately.
