Responsibilities & Context:
∎ 1. Operational Oversight:
∎ Overseeing daily operations, ensuring that production targets are met efficiently.
∎ Implementing and maintaining quality standards for building materials, ensuring adherence to company and industry standards.
∎ Monitoring stock levels of raw materials and finished goods, ensuring adequate supply to meet production and sales needs.
∎ 2. Team and Resource Management:
∎ Managing and coordinating teams across production, logistics, and maintenance.
∎ Organizing training programs to improve the skills and efficiency of employees.
∎ Ensuring efficient utilization of equipment, manpower, and materials to minimize costs and maximize output.
∎ 3. Compliance and Safety:
∎ Ensuring operations adhere to labor laws, environmental regulations, and industry standards.
∎ Implementing workplace safety measures, conducting safety training, and minimizing occupational hazards.
∎ 4. Supply Chain and Logistics:
∎ Sourcing and procuring raw materials at optimal prices while ensuring consistent supply.
∎ Coordinating with logistics teams to ensure timely delivery of products to customers and distributors.
∎ Maintaining good relationships with suppliers and customers for long-term partnerships.
∎ 5. Budgeting and Financial Management:
∎ Monitoring operational expenses and implementing cost-saving measures.
∎ Preparing and managing operational budgets to align with company goals.
∎ Evaluating financial and operational metrics to improve profitability.
∎ 6. Process Improvement and Reporting:
∎ Identifying inefficiencies and implementing improvements in production and supply chain processes.
∎ Preparing regular reports on operational performance, challenges, and recommendations for management review.
∎ Overseeing the adoption of technology to improve operational efficiency, such as automated machinery or software for inventory management.
∎ 7. Customer Focus:
∎ Ensuring that products meet customer requirements in terms of quality and delivery timelines.
∎ Addressing customer complaints related to product quality or delivery and ensuring corrective measures are taken.
∎ Ensure the timely collection of accounts receivable, drive sales growth, and support the successful operation of the sales team.
∎ 8. Strategic Planning:
∎ Working with senior management to set operational goals aligned with the company's long-term objectives.
∎ Staying updated on market demands and trends in the building materials industry to adapt operations accordingly.
