Experience:
Master's degree in Business Administration, Management, Supply Chain Management, International Business, Commerce, or a related discipline from any reputed university.
Professional certifications in Supply Chain, Logistics, Commercial, or International Trade will be considered an added advantage.
8–12 years of experience in Import/Commercial/Supply Chain functions.
At least 3–5 years of experience in a managerial role.
Experience in FMCG, Manufacturing, Food Processing or large corporate organizations will be preferred.
Strong knowledge of import procedures, LC management, customs regulations, and international trade practices.
Sound understanding of Bangladesh Customs regulations, VAT, taxation, and import policy requirements.
Excellent negotiation, communication, and stakeholder management skills.
Strong analytical and problem-solving capabilities.
Proficiency in ERP systems, Microsoft Excel, and business reporting.
Ability to work under pressure and manage multiple shipments simultaneously.
Strong leadership and team management skills.
Manage end-to-end import operations, including sourcing support, LC opening, shipment tracking, customs clearance, and delivery to factories/warehouses.
Coordinate with foreign suppliers, banks, freight forwarders, shipping lines, C&F agents, and regulatory authorities.
Ensure timely procurement and uninterrupted supply of imported raw materials, packaging materials, machinery, spare parts, and capital equipment.
Monitor import documentation, including PI, LC, Insurance Cover Note, Shipping Documents, Bill of Entry, and related compliance documents.
Ensure compliance with Import Policy Order, Customs Act, VAT regulations, Bangladesh Bank guidelines, and other relevant laws.
Follow up on shipment schedules and proactively resolve delays, discrepancies, and customs-related issues.
Maintain import cost analysis and identify opportunities for cost optimization in freight, duty, and logistics expenses.
Manage relationships with customs authorities, ports, banks, and government agencies.
Lead, mentor, and develop the import team to ensure operational excellence.
Coordinate with Supply Chain, Commercial, Procurement, Finance, Production, and Warehouse teams for smooth execution of import activities.
Monitor bond-related activities (if applicable) and ensure proper documentation and compliance.
