∎ Master of Business Administration (MBA)
∎ MBA in finance/Accounting, CMA -Management Level/Advance Level 1/2
∎ Preferred Professional Certification: CMA Qualified
∎ Skills Required: Cost benefit analysis, Costing, Product Costing and budgeting
Experience Requirements:
∎ 7 to 11 year(s)
Job Responsibilities:
∎ Cost Accounting System Management: Develop and maintain an effective cost accounting system that accurately captures and allocates costs to products, services, and projects. Ensure the system complies with accounting standards and provides valuable cost information for decision-making.
∎ Cost Data Collection and Analysis: Oversee the collection of cost data from various departments and sources. Analyze cost data to identify trends, cost drivers, and areas for cost optimization. Provide detailed cost reports and Break-even point to management for review and decision-making.
∎ Costing of Products and Services: Determine the cost of producing goods and delivering services by analyzing direct and indirect costs, overheads, and other cost components. Collaborate with production and operations teams to ensure accurate and timely cost allocations.
∎ Budgeting and Forecasting: Collaborate with the finance team to develop annual budgets and periodic forecasts related to costs. Monitor actual costs against budgeted figures, analyze variances, and provide explanations for significant deviations.
∎ Inventory Management: Work closely with the inventory control team to maintain accurate inventory records and ensure the correct valuation of inventory costs. Perform periodic inventory reconciliations and address discrepancies as necessary.
∎ Cost Control Initiatives: Identify cost-saving opportunities and cost reduction strategies across the organization. Develop and implement cost control initiatives to improve operational efficiency while maintaining quality standards.
∎ Cost Reporting: Prepare regular cost reports, cost variance analysis, and cost performance metrics for management and relevant stakeholders. Present complex cost data in a clear and concise manner, making it understandable for non-financial personnel.
∎ Pricing Analysis: Collaborate with the pricing team to determine optimal pricing strategies based on cost data, market analysis, and competitive landscape. Ensure pricing decisions align with the organization's financial objectives.
∎ Compliance: Ensure adherence to relevant accounting standards, tax regulations, and internal control procedures. Assist in internal and external audits related to cost accounting and provide necessary documentation and explanations.
∎ Process Improvement: Continuously assess and enhance cost accounting processes and procedures. Implement automation and technology solutions to streamline data collection and reporting, reducing manual efforts and enhancing accuracy.
∎ Cross-Functional Collaboration: Work closely with various departments, such as procurement, production, sales, and finance, to obtain relevant data and gain insights into cost-related matters. Provide financial support and guidance to department heads on cost-related decisions.
∎ Risk Management: Identify financial risks that may impact the organization's budget and financial stability. Develop risk mitigation strategies to minimize potential adverse effects and ensure the organization's financial security.
∎ Team Management: Lead and supervise a team of cost accountants or analysts. Provide coaching, training, and performance feedback to ensure the team's professional growth and achievement of departmental objectives.
∎ As a Cost Accountant Manager, you will be responsible for managing the cost accounting function within the organization, playing a crucial role in financial decision-making and cost optimization. Your expertise in cost analysis and reporting will contribute to the overall financial health and success of the company.
