Experience:
• Proven experience in C & F related work, handling import accounting, customs duty, VAT, port-related expenses, documentation and advance reconciliation.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and ERP systems.
• Excellent communication and coordination abilities for dealing with customs authorities, C&F agents, banks and internal stakeholders.
Position Purpose
To manage import-related accounting documentation, statutory payment records and financial coordination by ensuring timely collection, verification, submission and reconciliation of duty, VAT, port, clearing and customs-related transactions. The role is responsible for maintaining accurate financial records, ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements and facilitating smooth coordination between the factory, C&F agents, customs authorities and Head Office Accounts.
Duties & Responsibilities
• Collect, verify and maintain all import-related bills and supporting documents, including customs duty, VAT, port charges, clearing expenses, freight and other statutory payments.
• Prepare complete sets of import-related financial documents and submit them to the Head Office Accounts Department accurately and within the stipulated timeline.
• Maintain proper records of advances provided to C&F agents, transporters and other service providers, ensuring timely adjustment and reconciliation.
• Coordinate with Customs authorities, C&F agents, shipping lines, banks and Head Office Accounts regarding import-related financial transactions and documentation.
• Verify import expenses against approved quotations, invoices, and supporting documents to ensure accuracy and compliance.
• Monitor outstanding advances and follow up with concerned parties to ensure prompt settlement and adjustment.
• Maintain proper filing and documentation of all import-related financial records to facilitate internal and external audits.
• Prepare periodic reports on import expenses, duty payments, VAT and advance adjustments for management review.
• Ensure compliance with company policies, accounting standards, customs regulations, VAT laws and other statutory requirements.
• Support Finance & Commercial teams in import cost analysis, budget monitoring and process improvement initiatives.
• Perform any other responsibilities assigned by management.
