Educational Requirements:
∎ Independent Bangladeshi national with expertise and own network in the education sector in Bangladesh.
∎ University degree in any discipline, preferably related to education.
∎ Experience in international cooperation and liaising between donor organizations and local partners.
∎ Good experience in editing and composing narrative and financial reports as well as proposals.
∎ Excellent written and spoken English and PC skills.
∎ Willingness to travel to working areas.
Job Context:
∎ Childaid Network is a German non-profit foundation for children and young people in need. Childaid Network focuses on promoting access to education for children and young people in South Asia. In 2022, Childaid supported approx. 200,000 young people in South Asia directly and invested almost €4 million in projects with around 40 qualified partners.
∎ Childaid Network is well-connected in the project areas, works very closely with local partner organizations, invests significantly in building the capacity of local teams and partner organizations, and facilitates cross-organizational learning. The foundation is embedded in an extensive network of like-minded people and has received several awards for the quality of its projects and the commitment of its team. Currently, the foundation is planning to expand its projects and partners in Bangladesh and searching for a part-time local Project Coordinator
Job Responsibilities:
∎ The consultant will be in contact with local partner organizations of Childaid Network in Bangladesh and stay up to date about the progress of the projects.
∎ The consultant will support the local partners before, during and after the projects by assisting in the compilation of documents required by CAN (e.g., proposals, reports), while ensuring a high quality and compliance with CAN guidelines.
∎ The consultant will frequently travel to project sites and partners' offices.
∎ The consultant will participate in online and in person meetings between CAN and its partner organizations to advise on project-related questions and possibilities of collaboration. The Consultant will document decisions and to do's.
∎ The consultant will expand the network of CAN in Bangladesh by meeting with potential project partners, knowledge exchange partners and other relevant stakeholders.
∎ The consultant will organize and accompany travels by CAN staff in Bangladesh.
∎ The consultant will conduct secondary research on the social, economic and legal context in Bangladesh, when relevant for CAN's operations.
∎ The consultant will report to the CAN team in Germany and work closely with the Country Director in Nepal.
Additional Requirements:
∎ Experience in the primary and pre-primary education sector in Bangladesh including pedagogical concepts and policy dialogue.
∎ Experience in assessing teaching-learning methodology, learning materials, capacities of teachers and staff, students' performance, community mobilization, curriculum development.
∎ Experience in working with marginalized communities.
∎ Expertise in child rights and childrens' health.
∎ Knowledge of the legal conditions for setting up a local office and team for a foreign organization in Bangladesh.
