∎ Graduates from any relevant discipline. Academic degrees can be relaxed in case of a person with extensive field experience particularly with Livelihoods intervention in the Cox's Bazar region for both host and refugee community
Job Context:
∎ Project Brief: The organisation is implementing a multi-year skills development project as part of a joint Initiative of a consortium in the refugee camps of Cox`s Bazar. The project aims to improve and sustain the natural environment in and around refugee camps in the Teknaf area of Cox`s Bazar district and create an enabling situation for communities to become self-empowered, thereby contributing to the area`s sustainable development.
∎ Job Statement: The primary responsibility of a Livelihoods Facilitator will be to work closely with community members to understand their needs, challenges, and opportunities for improving their livelihoods. This will involve regular visits to the beneficiaries` sites for the refugee and host community to identify their needs, understand their concerns, and assess their resources. Working collaboratively with the Livelihoods Officer and under the supervision of the Upazila Coordinator, LFs will implement strategies and take initiatives to address the community`s identified needs and concerns. They will also support and guide the community members to implement the initiatives, monitor progress, and evaluate impact. The role of a Livelihoods Facilitator will involve building strong relationships with community members, gaining their trust, and empowering them to take ownership of their livelihoods. LFs must be a good listeners, communicator, and facilitator to work effectively with community members from diverse backgrounds.
Job Responsibilities:
∎ A. Programme Activities
∎ One of the most critical activities of the Livelihoods Facilitator is to assist the Livelihoods Officer in conducting community needs assessments to identify areas where support is needed.
∎ Collect baseline data regarding the beneficiaries across the refugee camps and host community through electronic tabs under the supervision of the Livelihoods Officer.
∎ Engaging with community members through outreach efforts, such as meetings, events, and door-to-door visits, to raise awareness about community initiatives and encourage participation.
∎ Building relationships with community leaders and other key stakeholders to facilitate collaboration and garner support for community initiatives.
∎ Support the Livelihoods Officer for the selection of village/camp and beneficiaries, beneficiary list preparation and finalization, and conducting census survey to identify potential households for beneficiary selection.
∎ Conduct regular field visits to beneficiary groups/clusters as per need to understand the status of implementation and to identify further training needs
∎ Coordinating Community Mobilizers and working with local organizations and businesses to support the project.
∎ Accompaniment support to project management and donors during field visits and sharing of monitoring findings on a regular basis.
∎ B. General
∎ Assist the Project Manager as per his/her requirements.
∎ Perform any other task as assigned by the programme/management.
Additional Requirements:
∎ Minimum 04 years of professional experience particularly in the relevant area.
∎ Knowledge of Rohingya dialect is desirable and experience in the Rohingya Camp Context will be preferred.
∎ Having non-discriminatory and gender-sensitive perceptions along with safeguarding
∎ To protect children in connection
∎ Excellent computer literacy especially MS applications
∎ Good communication, facilitation and motivational skills.
∎ Understanding on local culture and languages is preferable.
∎ Abilities to undertake extensive travel to refugee camp/village/community level.
∎ Good hand in writing both narrative and quantitative Reports.
∎ Strong analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making capabilities
∎ Willingness and ability to work in hardship environments
∎ Excellent teamwork, and a proven track record of building trust within and empowering teams
∎ Diplomacy, tact and negotiating skills are essential
∎ Excellent verbal and written communication, presentation and reporting skills in English and effective interpersonal and negotiation skills, proven through successful interactions with all levels of stakeholder groups.
