Job Title: Junior Consultant – Ophthalmology

Job Context

We are seeking a dynamic, dedicated, and energetic Junior Consultant (Ophthalmology) to join our growing eye hospital team. This role is ideal for a freshly qualified or early-career postgraduate eye specialist who is passionate about clinical excellence, eager to manage diverse patient cases in the Outpatient Department (OPD), and ready to perform surgical procedures under the guidance of senior consultants while building independent surgical confidence.

Job Responsibilities

• Manage daily patient consultations in the Outpatient Department (OPD), conducting detailed clinical examinations and accurate diagnostic assessments.

• Perform routine minor and major ophthalmic surgeries, and assist senior consultants in complex surgical procedures (such as advanced Phacoemulsification or specialized retinal/corneal cases).

• Take active charge of handling emergency eye trauma, infections, and urgent clinical cases.

• Conduct pre-operative evaluations and provide meticulous post-operative follow-up care to ensure patient recovery.

• Coordinate effectively with senior consultants, optometrists, and medical technicians to ensure high-quality, efficient patient care.

Educational Requirements

• MBBS from a recognized medical college.

Experience Requirements

• Fresh post-graduates with strong clinical training and hands-on surgical experience during their residency/fellowship are highly encouraged to apply.

Additional Requirements

• Must have a valid and updated registration from the BMDC (Bangladesh Medical & Dental Council).

• Basic competency in performing fundamental ophthalmic surgeries independently. Active interest in mastering Phaco surgery is a strong plus.

• Excellent interpersonal skills with a patient-friendly and empathetic approach.
