Job Context:
∎ SEAF Ventures Management is an investment management company that invests in medium sized businesses in Bangladesh. The company partners with entrepreneurs to provide business assistance and customized financial solutions. SEAF Ventures Management is a subsidiary of the US-based fund manager SEAF (www.seaf.com) which has presence in more than 20 countries.
∎ The Investment Analyst will serve as key member of the core team engaged in the evaluation of equity and quasi-equity investment opportunities and managing portfolio investments in Bangladesh.
Job Responsibilities:
∎ Performing Financial Statement Analysis, Financial modeling & Valuation
∎ Active and agile in sourcing new pipeline companies
∎ Preliminary screening of new opportunities and development of investment theses
∎ Detailed due diligence, including review of operating, financial, industry and market information
∎ Development and negotiation of investment structures and terms
∎ Preparation and presentation of investment proposal for review by the Investment Committee
∎ Management of logistical processes related to transaction execution
∎ Coordination of technical assistance and business support services to investees
∎ Active monitoring of portfolio investments and proactive supervisions
∎ Ability to work under pressure and meet the deadline
∎ Always eager to look into detail and understand the root causes and potential impacts
Additional Requirements:
∎ Impact investment skills and understanding of the ESG standards and their applications
∎ Outstanding analytical skills with strong background in quantitative analysis and problem solving
∎ Excellent skills in data collection, error checking and data analysis
∎ Keen business understanding and judgment; ability to grasp business concepts and apply to the practical context
∎ Entrepreneurial nature; desire to take on responsibility and initiative
∎ Rigorous work ethic; capacity to both execute well on delegated tasks and work independently
∎ Excellent verbal and written communication skills in English and Bangla; ability to articulate ideas and present analyses to senior colleagues succinctly and with confidence
∎ Demonstrated ability to build sophisticated financial models - strong spreadsheet competency is a must
∎ Excellent command in financial modeling
∎ Smart working mindset and cool nerve under challenging situations
∎ Out of the box thinking and a smart problem solver
∎ Excellent communication and relationship management skills, specially with the entrepreneurs
∎ Team player, positive attitude and jolly-minded
∎ 2-4 years of experience in relevant fields; impact investment experience will get preference
∎ Female candidates are highly encouraged to apply
∎ Relevant experience may include but not limited to VC/PE investment, investment banking, asset management, structured finance, leasing, development finance, impact investing etc.
