Job Responsibilities:
∎ Provide consecutive or simultaneous interpretation services from Chinese to Bengali and vice versa, maintaining accuracy, clarity and cultural sensitivity.
∎ Interpret spoken conversations, speeches, presentations and discussions accurately, conveying the message faithfully in the target language.
∎ Aid in written communication tasks such as translating documents, reports, emails and other relevant materials from Chinese to Bengali.
∎ Prepare in advance for interpreting assignments by researching and familiarizing yourself with the subject matter and specialized vocabulary.
∎ Maintain confidentiality and impartiality during interpreting sessions, respecting the privacy and sensitivity of the information being shared.
∎ Assist with cultural and language-related queries, clarifying any misunderstandings that may arise during communication between Chinese and Bengali speakers.
∎ Collaborate with other interpreters and language professionals to ensure consistency and quality in interpreting services.
∎ Stay up-to-date with industry terminology and advancements, continuously improving your language and interpreting skills through professional development opportunities.
∎ Adapt to different interpreting modes (consecutive, simultaneous, whispered, etc.) depending on the specific requirements of each assignment.
∎ Handle challenging situations calmly and professionally, ensuring smooth communication flow and resolving any language-related difficulties that may arise.
Additional Requirements:
∎ Age at least 20 years
∎ Both males and females are allowed to apply
∎ Proficiency in both Chinese and Bengali languages with a strong command of vocabulary, grammar and idiomatic expressions.
∎ Excellent listening, comprehension and speaking skills in both languages, enabling accurate interpretation in real-time.
∎ Proven experience as an interpreter, preferably with specific expertise in Chinese to Bengali interpretation.
∎ Familiarity with various subject areas such as business, legal, medical, technical and general topics, allowing for effective interpretation in diverse contexts.
∎ Strong cultural competency in both Chinese and Bengali cultures, including an understanding of social norms, customs and etiquette.
∎ Exceptional memory and concentration skills to retain and recall information accurately during interpretation sessions.
∎ Professional demeanor, maintaining neutrality and objectivity while delivering interpretation services.
∎ Ability to work under pressure and manage time effectively, meeting deadlines for interpreting assignments.
∎ Proficiency in using interpreting equipment and software tools, if required for specific assignments.
∎ Relevant certifications or qualifications in interpretation or translation (preferred, but not mandatory).
