Responsibilities & Context:

VARD Eye Care Services (VARD-ECS) Ltd. is a sister concern non-profit organization of VARD. It has been implementing VARD Eye Care Services (VARD-ECS) through well-established four Eye Hospitals located Sylhet and Chittagong division.  This position is based at VARD Eye Care Services (VARD-ECS) Ltd. Head Office, Adabor, Dhaka.

Job Summary:  

The Internal Audit Officer ensures that all financial, administrative, and operational activities of the eye hospitals are conducted efficiently, transparently, and in compliance with applicable laws, donor requirements, and hospital policies. This role focuses on auditing medical service revenues, pharmacy operations, procurement, inventory, and donor-funded eye care projects to ensure integrity, accountability, and effective use of resources.

·  Plan and execute internal audit assignments outside of Dhaka in accordance with the approved audit plan.

·  Conduct regular audits of hospital financial transactions, including patient billing, surgery fees, donations, and grants.

·  Review accounting records, vouchers, and ledgers to ensure accuracy and compliance with hospital financial policies.

·  Audit cash handling, bank reconciliation, and fund transfers.

· Check medicine procurement, stock records, expiry monitoring, and pharmacy, spectacles sales reconciliation.

· Assess the adequacy of systems for safeguarding assets and preventing fraud or misuse of funds.

·  Audit consumables used in surgeries and outpatient departments for accuracy and accountability.

· Audit donor-funded project to ensure funds are properly utilized.

·   Verify project/hospital budgets, expenditure, and reporting against donor/organization requirements.   

·  Prepare comprehensive audit reports highlighting key findings, control gaps, and actionable recommendations.

·  Present audit findings to VARD -ECS management.

· Monitor follow-up actions and report implementation status.

· Assist external auditors to prepare organizational/project audit reports.  

· Perform other relevant duties assigned by Director (Finance and Accounts)/ Managing Director , VARD ECS Ltd.
