∎ Duty Station: FDMN Camp in Teknaf, Cox`s Bazar
∎ Organization unit: HP under MOHFW Coordination Center supported by ICRC
∎ Following the mass influx of people from Rakhain state in August 2017, ICRC identified the extra burden this placed on the existing Ministry of Health and Family Welfare MOHFW facilities, and lack of other actors providing comprehensive primary health care in Teknaf.
∎ After influx ICRC provided medical services through mobile medical team in association with BDRCS. Although the emergency phase of the response has plateaued, the need for primary health services remains high. Whilst a mobile medical service meets the emergent needs of the population during 2017-18, a more comprehensive and geographically stable service is now needed for the next phase. A fixed clinic therefore is a more sustainable way of enabling continuity of care and improve the quality of service provided.
∎ MoU has been signed in between ICRC and DGHS, MOHFW to established and operate one primary health center in Camp 26, Teknaf. To make this health facility functioning we are hiring for the position titled "Health Promotion Worker".
Job Responsibilities:
∎ Motivate community to be active, engaged participants in their health management
∎ In coordination with the health team, develop, implement and evaluate community health promotion plan
∎ Raise awareness in relation to health education in different camps, advocate for individual and community health needs
∎ Promote services and programs of the Ministry of Health & Family Welfare and ICRC
∎ Carryout a community profile survey and collect required statistics annually
∎ Perform and/or organize community health education activities
∎ Perform outreach activities in homes, neighborhoods, learning centers, other agencies, mosque or other religious centers, health centers, etc.
∎ Registration of Target population for Immunization if needed
∎ Registration of Ante-natal and Post-Natal Care of pregnant mother
∎ Assist Medical Officer at Health Care Centre
∎ Encourage community members to use health facilities
∎ Distribute health information materials e.g. posters, flyers, and brochures to appropriate areas
∎ Conduct emergency management duties if necessary
∎ Responsible for the cleaning of the community health post in preparation for visiting clinics (with supplies provided by the responsible formal health facility)
∎ Any other as reasonably assigned duties by higher authority
Additional Requirements:
∎ The hired personnel must stay around duty station in Teknaf.
∎ Has experience of working at FDMN Camp, CoX's Bazar
∎ Good understanding of reading, writing and speaking of the English language.
∎ Fluency in Bengali.
∎ Able to communicate in local Language.
Salary: Tk. 16000 (Monthly)
