Experience:
Having minimum 10 years of experience in Tax and Vat within Group of Companies or Local Conglomerate.
In-depth understanding of local and international tax laws, compliance requirements, and tax accounting principles.
Ability to manage diverse teams and work collaboratively across various functions and geographies.
Develop and implement effective tax strategies to optimize the company’s tax position while ensuring compliance with applicable local and international tax regulations.
Serve as a key point of contact with external stakeholders, including the National Board of Revenue (NBR), and maintain strong working relationships and professional networks with relevant NBR and tax officials.
Represent the company in tax-related discussions, audits, assessments, disputes, and negotiations with the NBR, VAT offices, and other relevant regulatory authorities.
Manage transfer pricing matters to ensure compliance with applicable local and international transfer pricing laws, regulations, and documentation requirements.
Ensure compliance with all applicable local and international tax regulations; oversee the preparation and timely filing of tax returns and ensure the accuracy of tax-related financial reporting and disclosures.
Collaborate closely with Finance, Legal, Operations, and other business functions to assess the tax implications of business decisions and integrate tax considerations into broader business strategies.
Lead, mentor, and develop the tax team, fostering a culture of accountability, continuous learning, technical excellence, and professional growth.
Establish and monitor performance metrics for the tax function in alignment with the company’s overall strategic objectives, utilizing balanced scorecards and other appropriate performance management tools to evaluate the effectiveness of tax initiatives.
Identify, assess, and mitigate tax risks by establishing robust processes, internal controls, and compliance mechanisms in line with evolving regulatory requirements.
Stay abreast of changes in tax legislation, regulatory developments, and industry trends to ensure the company’s tax strategy remains compliant, relevant, proactive, and commercially aligned.
