Job Overview

The Head of Retail Operations will be responsible for managing the overall operations, sales performance and expansion of our retail network. The role will ensure efficient store operations, achievement of sales and profitability targets, strong customer experience, inventory control and consistent brand standards. The position will also lead new store expansion through location identification, feasibility analysis and store launch management.

Job Description / Responsibility:

• Oversee daily operations of all retail stores and ensure compliance with company SOPs and standards.

• Monitor store-wise sales, targets, profitability and key retail performance indicators.

• Analyse store performance and implement corrective actions for underperforming branches.

• Manage ERP, POS, inventory, stock transfers and ensure accurate retail data and reporting.

• Monitor cash handling, stock audits, loss prevention and store compliance.

• Lead and monitor Branch Managers and retail staff, including KPIs, performance and training.

• Ensure high standards of customer service, visual merchandising and store presentation.

• Manage landlord, vendor, security and maintenance-related activities.

• Coordinate product shipments and ensure timely stock delivery to stores.

• Ensure required trade licences, BIN, VAT/challan and other regulatory requirements are maintained.

• Identify new store locations and conduct market, competitor and commercial feasibility analysis.

• Prepare business cases covering investment, sales forecast, profitability, break-even, ROI and payback.

• Manage the complete process of new store openings, from planning and staffing to launch and post-opening review.

• Develop retail expansion strategies and identify opportunities for new markets and product categories.

• Prepare regular sales, profitability, inventory, customer, market and expansion reports for management.

• Work with management to develop strategies for improving sales, profitability and overall retail growth.

Educational Requirements:

• Bachelor's degree in Marketing, Business Administration or a relevant discipline from a reputed university.

Experience:

• 35+ years of experience in retail operations, preferably managing multiple stores.

• Experience in retail expansion, store opening, location feasibility and commercial negotiations will be preferred.

• Strong knowledge of retail sales, inventory, POS/ERP and store profitability.
