Welthungerhilfe bases its efforts on the principle of help for self-help, which it implements with measures ranging from rapid disaster relief to rehabilitation to long-term development cooperation projects with national and international partner organisations.
∎ Project Context:
∎ Welthungerhilfe (WHH) Bangladesh aims to support the vulnerable community in the country level and facilitating their access to improved their social status, nutritious value, improve agricultural production, living conditions, sanitation facilities, personal hygiene etc. Through the project expects to reach extreme vulnerable groups and to provide them with direct assistance for Water, Sanitation and Hygiene needs by coordinating with and complementing of WATSAN/WASH programmes of the Government of Bangladesh, DPHE, UNICEF, UPs, BDRCS, UN agencies, international NGOs and local/national NGOs working, LGIs and Upazila administration in the country level.
∎ Objectives of Head of Project:
∎ Head of Project (HoP) is responsible to lead and implement a WASH project through a local implementing partner. Through his/her leadership, WHH aims to ensure that the project is delivered on time, within budget, and meets the highest quality standards. His/Her first priority is to develop a project plan that outlines the scope, timeline, and resources required to successfully deliver the project. This involves working closely with the implementing partner, and relevant stakeholders to understand their needs and requirements, as well as collaborating within the team to identify any potential risks or challenges.
∎ The HoP position will ensure that the project is delivered to the expected quality of WHH/donors and absolute integration of the WHH policies, code of conduct and other requirements. The position involves working with the project team to evaluate the impact of the project, identify any areas for improvement, reporting and develop strategies for project activities. The position will work under the supervision of the Area Manager closely coordinating with the Programme, MEAL, Logistics and Finance departments.

Job Responsibilities:
∎ Provide leadership and oversight for the project as WHH representative, ensuring that the project is delivered to the highest quality standards and meets the needs of the target population.
∎ Coordinate project activities and provide backstopping, advisory support and assistance to partners in project implementation with the objective of achieving clearly defined and measurable outputs.
∎ Represent Welthungerhilfe at different platforms, local government, meetings, seminars and consultations.
∎ Establish coordination with local government e.g, District Commissioner, UNO, Upazilla/Union Chairmans, Ward Members
∎ Establish close cooperation/coordination with WHH BGD CO, including MEAL CO, Communication, AM, LOG / Finance teams.
∎ Undertake field-level monitoring visits on a regular basis and develop well-documented analytical monitoring reports of those visits.
∎ Facilitate support to partners in developing quality publications as IEC materials, reports, workshop documents and brochures.
∎ Work closely with the local implementing partner to develop and implement a comprehensive project plan that includes the distribution of hygiene kits and education and training for various target groups.
∎ Prepare periodical progress reports to reflect achievement of project targets, document lessons learnt and record project activities and prepare consolidated reports on partner programmes for submission to head office and donor agencies.
∎ Monitor and evaluate the progress of the project team of the local implementing partner, ensuring that project goals and milestones are being met.
∎ Foster a positive and collaborative team culture between WHH CO and local implementing partner, ensuring that everyone can contribute ideas and expertise.
∎ Monitor project expenditures and ensure that the project is within budget.
∎ Maintain open and effective communication with all stakeholders, including the local implementing partner, the target population, and other relevant parties.
∎ Evaluate the impact of the project, identify areas for improvement, and develop strategies for ongoing maintenance and sustainability.
∎ Facilitate progress review workshops.
∎ Others:
∎ Regular coordination and communication with WHH-CO/HQ for decision-sharing and implementation.
∎ Support to WHH CO programme department providing projects updates/information as required.
∎ Attend different project meetings, finance meetings and donor meetings.
∎ Attend capacity-building training, orientation and events.
∎ Ensure GBV and protection activities under organizational Policy and standards.
∎ Coordinate and cooperate with the project team, Finance, HR, Procurement, Logistics and Communication departments for smooth project operation.
∎ Support to organization management for project proposal and concept note development.
∎ Ensure organization/project visibility when and where required.
∎ Any other assignments by supervisor/organization.
∎ Additional Responsibilities:
∎ Dynamic individual with a demonstrated ability to achieve results in a demanding and difficult environment.
∎ Practical, quick, reasoning skills; must be able to communicate with all parties of the project.
∎ Demonstrated ability for people management.
∎ A team player; committed to motivating and leading staff.
∎ Clear understanding of the working of Donors grants and their perspective, requirements and standard.
∎ Willing to travel in remote areas.
∎ Commitment to working with Humanitarian organization.
∎ Any other special task assigned by the supervisor/organization.

Additional Requirements:
∎ Minimum 3-years of experience in working with NGO / INGOs as Head of Project or Project Manager.
∎ A professional with very good interpersonal skills, results-oriented, flexible, organized and systematic, attention to details, team player but also the ability to work independently.
∎ Good command of English and Bangla is a must.
∎ Hands-on experience in relevant office software/ applications.
∎ Fluency in English (both written and spoken).
∎ Willingness to travel/stay in the project areas/ fields (remote areas).
