Job Context:
∎ Suchana: Suchana- ending the cycle of malnutrition in Bangladesh, is a multi-sectoral nutrition programme aims to achieve significant reduction in stunting amongst children under two years of age in Bangladesh. The programme adopts an integrated graduation model to nutrition specific and nutrition sensitive interventions to prevent chronic malnutrition within the critical 1,000 days from conception to until a child reaches its second birthday. Suchana consortium includes: technical partners - Save the Children (SC), Hellen Keller International (HKI), WorldFish, International Development Enterprises (iDE); implementing partners - Centre for Natural Resources Studies (CNRS), Friends in Village Development in Bangladesh (FIVDB), Rangpur Dinajpur Rural Service (RDRS); and research partner - icddr,b.

Job Responsibilities:
∎ Summary of Responsibilities: Under the overall guidance of the Implementing Partner-Project Coordinator and direct supervision Assistant Project Coordinator and Upazilla Project Coordination of the Project, the Governance & Community Development Officer (GCDO) will be responsible for improving nutrition governance that translates political commitments into practice. S/he will work in close coordination with the respective GoB departments (BADC, DAE, DAM, DDM, DLS, DoF, DWA, DSS, Health, Family Planning, BWDB, others), Union Parishad and private sectors as directed by CNRS-Suchana project management as well as the technical partners and program leads in support of implementing their replication plans and relevant of technical and governance activities. This position will ensure quality services to internal and external stakeholders in line with the Suchana Program's SOP and other Policies and Procedures.
∎ Details Job Description / Responsibility
∎ Support project to maintain quality program delivery in line with MEAL framework to attain the expected outputs and outcomes.
∎ Carry out day-to-day activities of improving nutrition governance that translates political commitments into practice.
∎ Lead and coordinate all local meetings, beneficiary group meetings, dialogues, cross-visits and advocacy events.
∎ Assist in resource allocation to nutrition and effective implementation of nutrition-related policies and programmes on the ground
∎ Work closely with the Suchana communications team in increasing awareness and ensuring quality in local advocacy campaigns.
∎ Contribute to developing accountability amongst service providers and local governance institutions through incorporate appropriate actions
∎ Assist in the development of Suchana nutrition laboratory (portal) as a repository to capture lessons learned
∎ Ensure that children's empowerment promotes nutrition governance at national and local levels.
∎ Assist to ensure good governance and transparency at the field level.
∎ Ensure utilization of available knowledge base and stakeholder partnership to recommend governance team for actions.
∎ Contribute to landscape-level good governance by advising and conducting activities with Union Coordinator and Field Facilitators.
∎ Work directly with Upazilla Coordinator, Union Coordinator, and Field Facilitators as necessary and regular reporting to Dhaka and regional offices.
∎ Assist team in sensitization activities of the local government agencies.
∎ Report changes, conflicts, and new development in the working area to IPC and Upazilla Coordinator.
∎ Assist in the identification of leveraging potentials for sustainable financing structures.
∎ Develop necessary guidelines, manuals, action plans, etc. in coordination with the team.

∎ Coordination (Internal & External)
∎ Attend and contribute to regional level planning & coordination meetings organized by Suchana team
∎ Participate Suchana Upazila and Union Team meetings and relevant other meetings/discussion as required
∎ Contribute to programme level discussions on strategies, technical interventions, and approaches based on the practical situation and field experiences
∎ Proactively identify the opportunities for cross-learning sharing experiences among the geographical areas.
∎ Coordinate with Upazilla Coordinator and other Union Level Coordinators, and the project implementation team of Suchana to ensure the functionality of the advocacy process;

∎ Reporting:
∎ Support in documentation and reporting requirements for donor compliance
∎ Prepare a report of field implementation as and when required.

∎ General
∎ Ensure safeguarding and gender equity in the workplace
∎ Ready to work in any natural disaster or emergency situation anywhere in Bangladesh
∎ Any other tasks assigned by the Supervisor from time to time

Additional Requirements:
∎ At least 3 years of experience in the area of Governance & Community Development of nutrition, livelihood or food security program. Experience in working with multi-sectoral projects is preferable.
∎ Efficient computer literacy (especially MS Office applications)
∎ Strong ability to work with the team
∎ Strong ability in problem-solving and decision-making.
∎ Skill in documentation, facilitation & reporting.
∎ Excellent communications skills in both English and Bangla
∎ Ability to work under pressure and under a multi-sectoral / multi-disciplined team approach
∎ Having non-discriminatory and gender-sensitive perception
∎ To protect children in connection
∎ Willingness and ability to drive a motorcycle in the field as and when required and should have a valid driving license

Salary:
∎ BDT 27,563/month (inclusive all)
