∎ Under the supervision of Sexual Violence Operation Manager, The Field Officer in charge of Addressing Sexual Violence (FO ASV) is expected to understand the issue of sexual violence and the response across all areas of ICRC`s operations. S/he is a key team member in the analysis, data collection, design, implementation and monitoring of ICRC activities aimed at preventing and responding to sexual violence in Bangladesh. S/he has a strong thematic and programmatic understanding of the different ICRC tools and approaches to the topic and is able to independently identify and undertake activities, especially at field level. Additionally, the Generalist Field Officer will, when needed, act in the stead of the Sexual Violence Operations Manager.

Job Responsibilities:
∎ Proactively compiles and analyses information on sexual violence in Bangladesh. This includes data on trends, typologies of sexual violence and other forms of gender-based violence, barriers to accessing services and information, with specific attention to Cox's Bazar and Chittagong Hill Tracts.
∎ Disseminates relevant data with relevant ICRC colleagues, all with appropriate care and confidentiality.
∎ Provides field teams in Cox's Bazar and Chittagong Hill Tracts with strategic analysis and programmatic support including information on, and the use of, SGBV service mappings and referral pathways.
∎ Contributes to designing\setting the orientation of the programmes and projects.
∎ Contributes to the design and implementation of activities aiming to prevent and respond to sexual violence, including coordinating with relevant Prevention and Assistance departments in Dhaka and at the field level.
∎ Identifies training needs and contributes to the development of context appropriate training materials.
∎ Organizes and sometimes independently facilitates training sessions for relevant actors (internal, RCRC Movement components, community volunteers, authorities, weapon bearers etc.) together with other departments as appropriate.
∎ Develops and disseminates relevant awareness raising materials such as communication tools to be created and tailored for SGBV dissemination activities. Supports field teams in delivering awareness raising sessions when relevant.
∎ Supports documentation of the humanitarian consequences of any emergencies / other situations of violence on the civilian population and allegations of violations of international humanitarian / human rights law.
∎ Represents the ICRC, develops and maintains contact of the ICRC vis-à-vis communities, individuals, authorities, and weapon bearers, explaining the ICRC's mandate and activities.
∎ Represents the ICRC in interactions with the Bangladeshi Red Crescent Society regarding the prevention and response to sexual violence and works to strengthen this partnership at both the national and branch level.
∎ May be requested to represent the ICRC as an observer at GBV sub-cluster meetings and shares relevant information with other departments and sub-delegation.
∎ Supports efforts of the BDRCS in capacity building efforts of field-level volunteers about SGBV.
∎ Reports on relevant activities:
∎ Prepares, participates in, and reports on all aspects of field assignments that s/he is involved in.
∎ Ensures quality written reporting to ensure sustainability of his/her work and strong institutional memory. Reports include field trip reports, minutes of meeting, and PCP events/fears (including entering data in Automated system) - with appropriate confidentiality.
∎ Contributes to other internal written reports, as requested.
∎ Participates in the periodic evaluation of the ICRC's actions on addressing sexual violence.

Additional Requirements:
∎ Fluent command of English and computer literacy
∎ Knowledge of minority languages will get added advantage.
∎ Professional requirements:
∎ At least 3 years of work experience out of which 1-2 years of experience in ICRC or similar humanitarian agency. Previous experience in the context of Cox's Bazar and/or Chittagong Hill Tracts will be considered as advantage.
∎ At least 1 year of work experience on SGBV project design, project implementation, case management and/or other type of direct support to victims/survivors.
∎ Very good understanding of SGBV forms, causes and consequences, survivor-centered approach, multi-disciplinary response to meet the needs of victims/survivors.
∎ Good understanding of SGBV dynamics present in Bangladesh, Cox's Bazar, and/or Chittagong Hill Tracts.
∎ Previous experience in developing training materials and conducting training and/or awareness raising sessions on SGBV, including at community level, is an asset.
∎ Personal qualities for the position:
