∎ Minimum of 8 years of professional experience in climate action in the development sector.
∎ Proven track record of developing successful proposals and engaging with institutional donors, foundations, and international partners.
∎ Strong understanding of climate adaptation, mitigation, and low-carbon development, particularly in the South Asian context.
∎ Excellent writing, editing, and verbal communication skills in English; proficiency in Bangla is an asset.
∎ Familiarity with national and international climate-related frameworks and donor landscapes.
∎ Strategic thinking and ability to link documentation with resource mobilization and program impact.
∎ Exceptional writing, synthesis, and communication skills, particularly for diverse audiences including donors, policymakers, and media.
∎ Strong interpersonal and partnership-building skills with the ability to work across teams and cultures.
∎ Sound knowledge of the climate and development policy landscape, particularly around adaptation and resilience.
∎ Capacity to manage multiple tasks and meet tight deadlines with minimal supervision.
∎ Proficiency in using digital tools for content development, proposal writing, and knowledge sharing.
∎ Successfully led or contributed to high-value proposals for climate resilience or adaptation projects funded by bilateral, multilateral, or philanthropic donors.
∎ Produced high-impact content such as case studies, reports, blogs, policy briefs, and advocacy materials.
∎ Worked in cross-functional teams that bridge programming, communications, and fundraising.
∎ Participated in or facilitated stakeholder consultations, workshops, or international forums related to climate action.

Responsibilities & Context:
∎ Document and synthesize technical aspects of existing climate action initiatives, incorporating programmatic expertise, identifying thematic entry points, and aligning these with emerging trends and donor priorities.
∎ Map the donor and stakeholder landscape, identify funding opportunities, and initiate high-quality concept notes and proposals aligned with Friendship’s strategic priorities.
∎ Cultivate and nurture donor relationships and strategic partnerships to drive impactful programme development and resource growth.
∎ Collaborate with the Partnership Development team to mobilize external resources, including support for long-running programs now recognized as addressing the climate crisis.
∎ Identify and build academic and research partnerships that can attract funding and generate innovative insights for Friendship’s climate adaptation and mitigation programming.
∎ Raise awareness of Friendship’s climate work through strategic communication—sharing compelling messages and evidence in workshops, conferences, media, and high-level advocacy events.
∎ Establish systems to ensure systematic follow-up with global contacts initiated by the Executive Director and Head of Climate Action to strengthen international partnerships.
∎ Stay abreast of new thinking, research, and innovations in climate change—particularly on adaptation, mitigation, low-carbon and climate-resilient agriculture, financial inclusion, and transformative capacity building.
∎ Contribute technically to the design and coordination of climate action plans, ensuring coherence with broader sector strategies and ground-level programming.
∎ Job Summary:
∎ Friendship is seeking to hire a General Manager – Documentation, Content Development, and Resource Mobilization for its Climate Action Sector. This role is dedicated to advancing our climate actions in Bangladesh through strategic content development, knowledge synthesis, and resource mobilization.
∎ The General Manager will focus on developing, documenting, and reviewing programmatic content and proposals related to Friendship’s climate action projects. The position will play a key role in identifying opportunities, forging strategic partnerships, and mobilizing resources to amplify Friendship’s climate work nationally and globally.
∎ Role Purpose:
∎ The General Manager will contribute to the development of climate action strategies, support donor engagement, lead concept note and proposal development, and strengthen ongoing and emerging climate initiatives. The role includes coordination with both the national team and Friendship International offices to establish and nurture partnerships with government agencies, donors, academic institutions, and climate-relevant platforms and working groups.
