∎ Competence in writing evidence-based result-oriented reports.
∎ Ability to work in an ambiguous and rapidly developing environment, must be comfortable with constant change of local partners, and multiple competing priorities.
∎ Strong story-telling ability and writing skills to creatively communicate results in gender equality and social inclusion.
∎ Willingness to work in innovative and unconventional ways when necessary to achieve results.
∎ Ability to establish and maintain effective, & meaningful working relationships with public and private sector partners and other relevant stakeholders.
∎ Experience with a range of online content platforms, stories, and visuals.
∎ Able to work independently/with minimum supervision.
∎ Capable to plan, prioritise and organise given assignment among multiple competing tasks and urgent deadlines.
∎ Able to work under pressure and essentially meet deadlines.
∎ Excellent interpersonal skill and ability to provide effective support and to collaborate and coordinate across different teams from diverse background.
∎ Competent to make effective decisions upholding organisational values and Code of Conduct.

Responsibilities & Context:
∎ Support the process of development and implementation of the gender strategy, plan, and guidelines in collaboration with the programme team as per the programme requirements, aligned with donor, organisation, and partner organisations policies and standards.
∎ Support the capacity building of programme staff in implementation of the gender strategy and plan, and the use of relevant tools and approaches.
∎ Coordinate with and support the Monitoring Evaluation and Learning (MEL) team in establishing and implementing gender-sensitive monitoring, evaluation, learning and reporting systems, in alignment with the programme gender strategy, plans and targets.
∎ Support in the development of the data collection and analysis tools for the baseline assessment to guarantee data granularity in terms of gender and other vulnerabilities.
∎ Ensure that other essential data are collected for specific vulnerability targeted programming.
∎ Conduct a local systems analysis, with an integrated GESI analysis, to inform how the needs of vulnerable groups should be addressed in the local context.
∎ Provide partner organisations with ongoing GESI technical assistance.
∎ Integrate GESI considerations into operational research design and policy analysis.
∎ Help build and maintain inclusive networks that incorporate women-led, minority-led, and youth-led organisations.
∎ Review and provide inputs to the design (including results chains) of GESI activities.
∎ Recommend best practices on how the programme team can effectively engage with programme partners and programme beneficiaries to promote GESI issues.
∎ Review and contribute to the intervention plans and reports.
∎ • Identify appropriate, efficient, and effective methods and tools for collecting data related to the programme interventions.
∎ Recommend GESI training for staff and provide ongoing coaching/mentoring.
∎ Provide inputs to the Terms of References for specific assignments related to GESI and discuss the details with the programme team.
∎ Review the relevant documents, including key challenges and lessons learned.
∎ Job Purpose: The GESI Expert plays a pivotal role in integrating GESI considerations into all aspects of the project and WAB, from strategy development and capacity building to data collection and analysis. By focusing on gender equality and social inclusion, this role contributes to the project as well as WAB's mission of strengthening local democracy, improving equitable service delivery, and engaging marginalised groups, ultimately fostering more accountable and climate-resilient public services for all citizens.
