Educational Requirements:
∎ The Gender and Nutrition Expert must have a post graduate degree in Nutrition Science, including a substantial gender component, or equivalent professional qualifications

Job Context:
∎ An International Consultancy Firm has a vacant national position for an experienced mid-career national expert having for a bilateral project in the coastal zone with Noakhali as duty station. She will be intensifying gender equity with emphasis on nutrition education for all age groups, specifically of pregnant mothers, women, adolescents and children.
∎ Objectives of the post: To advise and assist the team management on gender empowerment, ensure nutrition-based food habit and all social rights-based activities of the project, with specific reference to gender, targeting, social welfare and rights.

Job Responsibilities:
∎ Advise and assist all partner agencies and NGOs regarding to implement the project in a in such a way that gender equity is maximised.
∎ Assist Government Implementing Agencies (IAs) and partner NGOs in developing linkages with other programmes and agencies that will help increase social and gender equity. In particular facilitate the participation by NGOs in campaigns on rights issues
∎ Assist project management with planning and implementing the women social research aspects, develop training module & materials of nutritional aspect for all age group and conduct practical sessions.
∎ Assist IAs and NGOs in organising gender and rights-based training for staff
∎ Advise and assist IEs in formation and operation of LCS so that the poorest women can obtain employment and share in profits of LCS contracts.
∎ Conduct FGDs to ascertain the benefits of women by reducing time and labour of WatSan and other project components.
∎ Produce reports and sections for project reports on gender, rights and other social issues.
∎ Any other activities that may be required in line with the overall purpose of the TA and the specialist's role in the TA team.

Additional Requirements:
∎ A minimum of 10 years of relevant professional experience. The consultant should have a broad knowledge base of participatory principles and hands-on experience with capacity building. Also, the consultant should have extensive field visit experience with gender issues in the local context. In view of team composion and tasks, preference will be given to women candidates.
