∎ 1. Organizational Background

∎ 2. Project Background
∎ Poribesh Shomoto Ring (Eco-Ring) - greening the WASH sector and environment - aims to repurpose or "upcycle" plastic waste during the production of latrine rings in order to reduce plastic pollution in nearby water bodies such as rivers, canals, and drains. It attempts to address the plastic waste issues as well as strengthen the Water, Sanitation, and Hygiene (WASH) sector in Bangladesh. The concept of Eco-Ring can trigger innovation among the rural community and encourage upcycling of plastic waste in many other incredible ways.
∎ 3. Understanding of the Assignment
∎ iDE is looking to hire an experienced and skilled field facilitator for the Eco-Ring project. The project is being implemented in one (01) district in the Sylhet division, the Sylhet district. The project team needs assistance from the facilitator in executing a few field activities. Along with this, a set of project-specified indicators will be tracked and analyzed to assess the success of the pilot. As per this ToR, iDE will recruit one facilitator to undertake field activities and data collection with the highest quality measures and data entry. The selected facilitator will work on the Eco-Ring project`s operational field, which is one (01) Upazila under the Sylhet district, Sylhet Sadar. The field facilitator will be required to complete the assigned and planned task from the field before the contract ends. The methods of data collection for the assessment will be both quantitative and qualitative. The assessment will gather data on the EcoRing product perception, product sales, revenue, customer base, business model, etc. Data will be collected from EcoRing`s Latrine Producer (01), Households (05), and different input and output market actors (i.e. scrap dealers, waste pickers, etc.). This assessment will allow the program to produce unbiased, reliable, precise, and accurate data regarding the results of the Eco-Ring pilot.
∎ As per this ToR, iDE will recruit one (01) facilitator to engage in identifying households for field testing. Moreover, s/he will provide all the required implementation support to the Latrine Producer and the Households to install the targeted number of latrines for the tests. Periodic follow-up with the households and collection of data as mentioned above will be the immediate next responsibility that s/he will perform. This is an eight-month-long assignment that is expected to start on 13th August 2023 and finish on 14th March 2024 (maximum 120 days in total). iDE is committed to equal opportunities for all and does not discriminate on the grounds of race, gender, religion, sexual orientation, or any other status. Job Responsibilities:
∎ Develop an adequate understanding of the target community;
∎ Attend training conducted by the program staff;
∎ Prepare a work plan for executing the assignment;
∎ Support team organizing training, workshops, and other events ensuring participants' attendance, logistic arrangements, and record keeping;
∎ Visit assigned households on a regular basis, identify challenges/problems, and document those appropriately;
∎ Submit bi-weekly progress reports as per program needs;
∎ Maintain effective communication with key staff to provide updates on the progress and challenges in the field and seek guidance on the way forward;
∎ Proofread the transcribed data and submit error-free data and documents to the concerned person;
∎ Support team in organizing events for latrine producers, households, and expert professionals ensuring participants' attendance, logistic arrangements, and record keeping.
∎ Based on the field context, the field facilitator is expected to deliver the following:
∎ Work plan for the execution of the assignment;
∎ Clear and well-written transcriptions in English from the collected data;
∎ Bi-weekly progress report;
∎ Event participant list, bill voucher (if any), and other record-keeping documents.
Additional Requirements:
∎ S/He will get BDT 1,500/day as daily remuneration of service for a maximum of 120 days over the course of 8 months.
∎ This includes field facilitators' fees and expenses (including travel costs, phone allowance, accommodation & food expenses, etc.).
∎ Hence, a total of BDT 180,000 will be the maximum amount payable for engaging the resource for a total of 120 days.
∎ The payment will be made in single-time installments as follows: 100% payment upon completing and submission of acceptable deliverables in each month with consideration of the 'No Work No Pay' modality.
∎ The following terms and conditions will apply:
∎ The payment will be made through an account payee cheque/ wire transfer (account name, number, type, bank name, and branch name are required for wire transfer) based on the timesheet and monthly activity plan completion;
∎ Government VAT and tax regulation will be applied and iDE Bangladesh will deduct all relevant VAT and Tax at source as per the GoB rule;
∎ The selected consultant/firm will abide by other terms and conditions of iDE Bangladesh.
∎ Prepared to undertake frequent field visits and extensive travel by using local transport.
∎ Willing to follow iDE rules and regulations.
∎ Available for agreed dates and assignments.
∎ Candidates from project areas (Sylhet and surrounding Districts) will get preference.
∎ Candidates having their own motorbike with valid driving license and personal laptop/desktop will get preference.
∎ Technical Skills
∎ Familiarity with rural context, markets, and local requirements of Bangladesh.
∎ Interpersonal skills.

∎ Software skills
∎ A user of MS Office Suite (Word, Excel, and Powerpoint)
∎ Familiarity and usage of Email software and Windows OS
∎ 1-2 years experience in the development sector will get preference.

Compensation & Other Benefits:
∎ Based on unavoidable circumstances, the period for conducting the assignment might change. The facilitator is expected to be able to accommodate these changes without additional cost. A final detailed work schedule will be determined during the orientation meeting.
∎ The remuneration package, workdays, and deliverables may change based on negotiations with the iDE management.
∎ iDE reserves the right to terminate this agreement at any time with the consultation of the employee as per HR policy.
