Job Summary

Diva Tex is seeking an energetic, hardworking and experienced Finishing In-Charge to independently manage garment finishing operations, from receiving sewn garments through ironing, checking, folding, packing and shipment readiness.

The candidate must have strong floor management skills and the ability to achieve daily targets while maintaining buyer quality standards and delivery schedules.

Job Responsibilities

• Plan and supervise daily finishing activities according to production priorities and shipment deadlines.

• Manage thread trimming, stain removal, ironing, checking, measurement checking, folding, tagging and packing.

• Allocate manpower effectively, set hourly and daily targets, and monitor output.

• Coordinate with sewing production, quality, merchandising and stores to ensure smooth garment flow and availability of packing materials.

• Ensure finishing methods, garment appearance and measurements meet approved buyer requirements.

• Control shade, size and colour segregation to prevent mixing during finishing and packing.

• Ensure correct labels, price tags, barcodes, polybags, assortments and carton markings.

• Work with the quality team to resolve defects and complete repairs promptly.

• Prepare finished goods for final inspection and ensure approved goods are ready for dispatch.

• Reconcile quantities received, finished, rejected, packed and handed over for shipment.

• Maintain daily reports on output, work in progress, repairs and packing status.

• Train and supervise finishing staff, maintain discipline and ensure safe use of irons, steam equipment and stain-removal chemicals.

• Reduce bottlenecks, unnecessary handling, damage and wastage.

Educational Requirements

HSC, diploma or bachelor’s degree. Educational requirements may be relaxed for candidates with strong relevant experience.

Experience Requirements

• Minimum 5 years of experience in garment finishing.

• At least 2 years as a Finishing In-Charge or in a similar supervisory role.

• Experience in an export-oriented garment factory is preferred.

Additional Requirements

• Ability to independently manage the finishing floor and meet shipment deadlines.

• Sound knowledge of ironing methods, garment presentation, packing instructions and buyer requirements.

• Strong manpower planning, leadership and problem-solving skills.

• Ability to maintain accurate production and stock records.

• Basic computer and Excel skills preferred.

• Proactive, disciplined and accountable, with a strong presence on the factory floor.
