Job Context:
∎ TROSA2: Rivers, Right and Resilience is funded by the Government of Sweden (SIDA) and implementing in Bangladesh jointly by Oxfam, and its partner organization RDRS Bangladesh and Center for Natural Resource Studies (CNRS). The program aimed to ensure that riverine communities uphold their rights, build their resilience, and participate in water resource management in the transboundary river basins of Ganges-Brahmaputra-Meghna (GBM). TROSA 2 will focus to strengthen resilience to climate change and environmental and natural disasters of riparian communities in the transboundary GBM river basins. The project will work on the following outcomes- i) Strengthened climate-resilient livelihoods of communities living in the transboundary GBM river basins, ii) Improved and inclusive management of transboundary river ecosystems and protection of biodiversity across the GBM river basins, iii) Strengthened leadership of civil society, especially women, Indigenous People, and youth to influence government and private sector on water governance across and between the transboundary GBM basins, and iv) Strengthened cooperation, collaboration and accountability across and between the transboundary GBM river basins.
∎ Through partnership and innovation, the program aims to contribute to progress towards the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs).
Job Responsibilities:
∎ Ensure over all financial and administrative support for the project;
∎ Check/review of regular day to day expenditures for projects and field offices and deal with cash management;
∎ Prepare vouchers for payment and update registers accordingly;
∎ VAT & TAX payment & advances accordingly;
∎ Ensure compliance of financial policies & procedures. Maintain contact with banks and other counterparts;
∎ Prepare monthly bank reconciliation statements;
∎ Update Books of Accounts on regular basis;
∎ Preserve invoices/vouchers in safe place;
∎ Maintain financial transaction on daily basis and report to the supervisor;
∎ Supervise support staff to manage transportation and others administrable procedure;
∎ Maintenance and ensure other logistical supports for the project staff;
∎ In accordance with the organizational policies and strategies, ensure rental fee and other use of materials;
∎ Budget preparation, monitoring, and analysis;
∎ Capable to prepare monthly payroll statement with applicable calculations;
∎ Prepare different reports & need-based documents;
∎ Assist in the preparation of monthly/quarterly and annual financial reports;
∎ Preparation of fund request to Donor mentioning details of the requirement;
∎ Prepare financial report & submit timely to the management & donor agency;
∎ Prepare the event budget breakdown as per approval of the project budget head;
∎ Ensure that local purchase and expenditure are done as per the organizational finance/purchase policy;
∎ Maintain stock book, inventory, asset, and other essential register properly and timely in effective manner;
∎ Participate in the procurement of goods and services in accordance with the organizational procurement policies and procedures;
∎ Capable to prepare financial statements;
∎ Support Internal and External Audit team;
∎ Respond to audit queries;
∎ Attend trainings, meetings, and workshops to update knowledge and skills as assigned and disseminate new knowledge/ information/lessons learnt;
∎ Understanding on Gender and organizational Gender Policy and act accordingly;
∎ Willing to visit in field level & support in NGOAB related compliance while needed;
∎ Perform any other duties and responsibilities assigned by the line management.
Additional Requirements:
∎ Age at most 45 years
∎ At least 5 years’ experience in Accountant position;
∎ Experience in administrative support;
∎ Excellent computer skills in MS Word, MS Excel and Power point;
∎ Liaison capacity with donors and GO/NGOs;
∎ Committed to safeguarding and protection of children and vulnerable adults;
∎ Age may be relaxed for deserving candidates.
Salary: Tk. 45000 (Monthly)
