∎ Job Location: SMKK Head office, Bagerhat Sadar, Bagerhat.
∎ Sheba Manab Kallyan Kendra (SMKK) was established in 1996 and implements integrated development projects in Bangladesh. The organisation has a particular focus to address the rights of children and women in order to improve their livelihoods. SMKK in collaboration with United Purpose will implement Strengthening Forecast-based Early Actions in Cyclone Prone coastal region at Sharankhola Upazila, Bagerhat district in Bangladesh (STEP) project which is funded by DG-ECHO.
∎ Position Rationale:
∎ Strengthening Forecast-based Early Actions in Cyclone Prone coastal region in Bangladesh (STEP) project will support national and capacitate local authorities in improving institutional, legislative & policy frameworks that are specific to preparedness and response where appropriate, relevant and necessary, in collaboration with respective development actors. Besides, the action will use an approach which strengthens multi-stakeholder coordination for ensuring the right people, right time and right initiatives in the right way (4R). For the ambition of the intervention to be met, the action will maintain very close coordination and collaboration with FBF/A taskforce, FBF Working Group, FbF Forum. This action will also emphasize to build on and contextualising existing protocols, guideline and modules to make this FbA protocol more specific to the locations and context.
∎ The Finance and Admin Officer will be responsible for overall financial activities and administrative issues within the project. S/he will maintain a close working relationship with the Finance team of United Purpose and follow the guidelines and instruction in performing financial activities of the STEP project at Sharankhola Upazila of Bagerhat district.
∎ Job Nature: Contractual for 18 months with possibility of further extension

Job Responsibilities:
∎ Overall responsible for financial activities of the project.
∎ Keep and maintain all the accounts records in soft as well as in hard form.
∎ Responsible to deal all the accounts of the project and settles all matter of banks.
∎ Responsible to prepare and submit the financial report to the finance manager for compilation, review and onwards submission to the donor.
∎ Ensure implementation of VAT and Tax as per NBR policy.
∎ Make sure all the records / accounts / financial transactions are booked before the audit commencement.
∎ Ensure cordial relation with the line department and the audit department of the donor agency
∎ Ensure any other reports to management as and when necessary.
∎ Any Other tasks required by management
∎ -Records all incoming and out-going letters and documents.
∎ Receives advice from the Project Coordinator and Executive Director on relevant issues and tend to those information/inquiries sought.
∎ Conveys all the required instructions and policies of the organization to the staff and the views of the regional staff to the leading body.
∎ Monitors administrative aspects of the project staff and evaluates discipline and punctuality of the staff to the assigned tasks.
∎ Ensure the maintenance of attendance register in office and also confirm staff attendance level in the field.
∎ Responsible to supervise the work, related to purchase of furniture, office equipment, computers, vehicles/motorbikes/bicycles and miscellaneous.
∎ Responsible to negotiate services agreements with vendors.
∎ Looks after administrative affairs of the Office.

Additional Requirements:
∎ Age 25 to 45 years
∎ The applicants should have experience in the following area(s):
∎ Accounts and Admin
∎ Strong understanding software-based accounting.
∎ Have strong understanding of preparation budget and implantation as per guidelines.
∎ Understanding of government rules/guidelines/NBR Policy on VAT/TAX
∎ Strong understanding of Core Humanitarian Principles in emergencies
∎ Strong knowledge and understanding of different government structure
∎ Ability to communicate with people from different cultures and time zones.
∎ Proficiency in MS Office tools, including Word, Excel and Power Point

Salary:
∎ Monthly Tk. 30,000 (Consolidated)
