∎ Projahnmo Research Foundation (PRF) in association with Johns Hopkins University, USA has a long and illustrious history of conducting research in Bangladesh. PRF’s research has contributed to improvement of health of Bangladeshi citizens and has supported the career development of numerous Bangladeshi public health professional. Projahnmo Research Foundation is seeking qualified and motivated applicants from Bangladeshi nationals for the position of Field Research Officer (FRO).
∎ Job Nature :Fixed term
∎ Initial appointment will be made for 6 months but may be extended for further period depending on satisfactory performance and availability of funds
Job Responsibilities:
∎ 1. Effective planning and implementation of project activities in assigned area
∎ Plan and supervise mapping and assessment of all public and private health facilities within the proposed catchment area in the Manikganj district
∎ Coordinate and supervise data collection from all public and private health facilities within the catchment area as per the work plan.
∎ Assist to develop an implementation plan, data collection activities, quality assurance plan, and field testing of data collection tools.
∎ Daily travel to the catchment areas and spent at least 80% time observing data collection activities and providing on-the-job coaching to the data collectors, where needed.
∎ 2. Monitoring, supervision, and reporting
∎ Supervise daily activities of data collectors and check for credibility and trustworthiness of collected data.
∎ Organize, facilitate, and conduct periodic team meetings and training at the local level.
∎ Collate data and prepare progress reports (weekly/fortnightly/monthly), as required.
∎ 3. Coordination and liaise
∎ Maintain liaison with district hospital authority and relevant personnel (OBGYN/Paediatricians/Neonatologist), civil surgeon’s office, UHFPO, UFPO, and other NGO and private stakeholders; and participate in monthly NGO coordination meetings at the district.
∎ Regularly coordinate with hospital staff (public and private) to ensure smooth data collection.
∎ 4. Administrative, financial, and other responsibilities
∎ Ensure proper documentation, and archiving records
∎ Ensure proper and optimum use of project logistics, including data forms, tab, laptop/desktop computer, etc.
∎ Review and manage monthly field expenses and supporting documents.
Additional Requirements:
∎ At least 3 years of experience in project implementation and monitoring.
∎ Computer skill in MS word, excel, and data handling.
∎ Familiarity with statistical software will be an added advantage.
∎ Able to establish and maintain an effective working relationship with the stakeholders.
∎ Should be willing to accept challenges and able to handle multiple tasks at a time.
∎ Should be able to communicate effectively both in Bangla and English.
∎ Able to summarize the results or observation.
