Educational Requirements:
∎ Diploma in Medical Assistant with at least 3 years of experience in any hospital/clinic or I/NGOs. Or Bachelor in social science with 5 years of experience in Hygiene Promotion activities.
∎ Clinical experience in emergency and primary healthcare will be an asset.

∎ Coordinates with Field promoter, partners etc.
∎ ROLE PURPOSE:
∎ Under the direct supervision of the WASH Program Manager (based in Cox`s Bazar) the IPC Officer will be the responsible - at the field level - to plan, develop, and supervise all IPC protocols implementation at Health Care Facilities level in collaboration with HEKS/EPER project team and local authorities. He/she will ensure efficient and timely implementation of this project, in accordance with WHO`s and UNICEF`s WASH FIT approach and sector working group standards and guidelines.

Job Responsibilities:
∎ Program Implementation:
∎ Assess needs and resources required for the GoB - Community Clinic and Family Welfare Center WASH improvements by using KoBo collect.
∎ Continuous follow-up with union level health supervisors i.e. HI/AHI/FPI to acquire essential services from the Upazila Health administrations.
∎ Mobilize Community Group, Community Support Group and HCF - Management Committees, where appropriate, for the proper functioning of the facilities.
∎ Regular field visit to monitor WASH situation in the healthcare facilities.
∎ Support facility-based health staffs i.e. CHCP and FWVs by giving technical advice and guidance to ensure basic WASH services are in place.
∎ Supervise distribution of essential items and prepare and document muster roll.
∎ Compile monthly activity report and report to your respective line manager
∎ Capacity Strengthening
∎ Train facility-based health staffs i.e. CHCP, HA, FWA and FWVs on WASH in Healthcare facility and hygiene promotion as appropriate.
∎ Train Community Group, Community Support Group and UH&FW - Management Committees on health facility WASH guidance and maintenance.
∎ Assist facility-based health staffs and community groups in the Operation and Maintenance (O&M) of WASH facility in the clinics.
∎ Provide on job training, mentorship and guidance to ensure WASH/IPC practices are in place.
∎ Coordination and Advocacy
∎ Maintain effective communication with Union level health supervisors, Union parishad and Upazila level health administrations.
∎ Participate in Union level different coordination meetings and Upazila level technical working group meetings.
∎ Safety and Security:
∎ Asses and consult other partners to ensure security situation of planned locations is calms; Ensure risk assessment and share any security information with the Program Manager.
∎ Responsible to put in place appropriate security and prevention measured during any distribution and implementation of project activities.
∎ Provide timely incident report to the line manager as needed.
∎ Logistics:
∎ Liaise, as necessary, with the logistics, admin and finance staff to ensure items are procured, transported, stored, managed and accounted for correctly.
∎ General:
∎ Deliver high quality results in line with the terms of reference agreed in advance - to do this in a way which maintains the reputation of the Humanitarian Department.
∎ Comply with HEKS/EPER policies and practice with respect to code of conduct, health and safety, equal opportunities and other relevant policies and procedures.
∎ To perform such other responsibilities as agreed with your line management.

∎ Professional requirements:
∎ Public health background with at least 5 years of IPC and training facilitation-related working experience in emergency contexts.
∎ Keep strong coordination with other implementing agencies, donors and local governmental authorities at field level.
∎ Good knowledge of security management in humanitarian contexts.
∎ Language:
∎ Good English skills (written and spoken).
∎ Personal requirements:
∎ Willingness to accept frequent field missions.
∎ Ability to establish collaborative relationships with staff, beneficiaries and other stakeholders.
∎ Strong attitude to take initiative, work autonomously and achieve results effectively.
∎ Flexibility and Stress-management.
