Uttaran is a people-centered organization using a rights-based approach to alleviate poverty, diversify livelihood opportunities and empower poor communities of Bangladesh.
∎ Uttaran invites applications for the vacant position titled- Field Officer for the " The Satkhira Resilient Water Systems Pilot, Bangladesh" Project supported by Save the Children.
∎ Job Title: Field Officer
∎ Reports to: Project Officer
Job Responsibilities:
∎ Field Organizers will be responsible for the following tasks (Including but not limited to):
∎ Create water management committees to ensure safe and equitable distribution of water and provide technical knowledge for sustainable use of water purification facilities
∎ Work for daily water supply for 40,000 people.
∎ Organize and mobilize 10 women user groups for better water management
∎ Developing and implementing WASH programs that meet the needs of the target communities, in line with the Project goals and objectives
∎ Work to set up good water management practices in schools for 2500 school children including promoting rainwater harvesting techniques, reservoir management for uninterrupted drinking water supply
∎ Monitoring the implementation of Water supply and WASH programs to ensure that they are on track and achieving their objectives, and evaluating the impact of the programs.
∎ Building the capacity of local communities and organizations to manage and maintain water services, and providing training and support as needed.
∎ Preparing regular progress reports and presenting project updates to stakeholders, and project team members
∎ Assist the youth platforms in organizing advocacy-related dialogues, seminars, and campaigns for water justice and local resource management for climate change adaptation.
∎ Provide small-scale resource support to the beneficiaries.
Additional Requirements:
∎ Age at most 35 years
∎ Both males and females are allowed to apply
∎ Commitment to working with Humanitarian organization
∎ Willing to drive motorcycle with a valid driving license
∎ Willingness to be based in the field.
∎ Fluent communication with the community in the local language is preferred.
