Job Context

WJCC is an NGO working in Bangladesh since 1985 to uphold rights and entitlements and to improve the socio-economic condition of the poor and disadvantaged community people. WJCC is a people-centered organization using a rights-based approach to alleviate poverty, diversify livelihood opportunities and empower poor communities of Bangladesh.

WJCC invites applications for the vacant position titled- Field Facilitator for the Fisherfolk Integration for Sustainable Habitat and Natural Ecosystem Transformation Project

Reports to: Project Manager, WJCC

Job Responsibilities

  • As the community Mobilizer you will play a pivotal role in ensuring the effective implementation of project activities. Key responsibilities include:

  • Community Engagement and Planning

  • Conduct regular community meetings/sessions at ward and union levels to mobilize and engage fisherfolk.

  • Assist in thorough needs assessments and beneficiary consultations to identify livelihood opportunities and challenges

  • Foster strong relationships with project beneficiaries and community members, promoting their active participation and ownership in project activities.

  • Arranging community consultation to gather feedback, address concerns, and ensure the project’s alignment with community needs.

  • Implementation and Coordination:

  • Conducting day-to-day implementation of livelihood activities, ensuring adherence to project timelines and quality standards.

  • Communicate with community leaders, and beneficiaries to ensure smooth project execution.

  • Organize training sessions, workshops, and capacity-building activities to enhance beneficiaries’ skills and knowledge.

  • Collect data to measure the effectiveness of livelihood interventions.

  • Networking and Partnerships:

  • Collaborate with local level government agencies, non-governmental organizations, and other relevant stakeholders to leverage resources and expertise.

  • Represent the organization in local level relevant forums, workshops, and meetings related to livelihood and community development.

  • Distribution and Relief Operations

  • Arranging the distribution of goods, products, and materials as per project guidelines.

  • Support relief work during emergencies in coordination with the project team.

  • Stakeholder Engagement

  • Communicate and collaborate with union level government representatives and other key stakeholders to gain support for project activities.

  • Build and maintain strong relationships with local authorities, community leaders, and partner organizations.

  • Actively participate in relief operations and ensure equitable and efficient support to affected communities.



Job Other Benifits:
    • Salary: 18,000 BDT, yearly increment and 1 festival bonus equivalent of 1-month gross salary yearly

    • Compensation & other benefits: As per WJCC Policy and Project Design.
