Job Context:
∎ iDE Bangladesh is looking for a qualified Field Coordinator for its CSISA MEA project who will be responsible for overall implementation of field interventions in assigned project areas and ensures quality delivery of tasks as per work plan with stakeholders, partners, and project participants. S/he is also responsible for management, coordination, communication and progress monitoring of project activities at the field level, including counterpart from prime organization, field-level human and financial resource management. The FC will represent the project at multiple levels, ensuring productive stakeholder relationships with the private sector, local government & Govt. line department, service providers and communities. S/he will play a key role in management, communication, and facilitation of staff capacity building initiatives. S/he will also demonstrate and train staff on required technology with the support of project teams in Dhaka and operations department.

Job Responsibilities:
∎ The responsibilities of the Field Coordinator include but are not limited to the descriptions below.
∎ General Responsibilities:
∎ Overall responsibility for the management, administration and successful implementation of the project in order to achieve the project goals and milestones in targeted areas;
∎ Develop effective regional program implementation plan and ensure it is implemented in the field with active participation of all stakeholders at all levels;
∎ Lead in planning and programmatic guidance for project staff in the field, partners and other stakeholders according to project guidelines and donor requirements;
∎ Supervise and coach OMDs and others to ensure their professional development for program growth, ensure a friendly environment for knowledge sharing, and employ appropriate coaching methods to improve field team performance.
∎ Ensure appropriate, effective and efficient utilization of resources, logistics and project materials to field staff and others, following the iDE-BAN administrative, financial, gender, vehicle and other policies and regulations including Donor and Bangladesh Govt. required rules properly.
∎ Provide strategic direction and support field team, partners and private sectors in operating project interventions as per work plan and adopt relevant changes in a timely manner that will be culturally appropriate and adhere to project milestones.
∎ Specific Responsibilities:
∎ Ensure effective management and delivery of field activities and dissemination of results to partners (project and private sector);
∎ Lead in rapid market assessment, identify potential interventions to minimize market gaps for producer groups and provide partners with appropriate implementation strategies;
∎ Maintain budgetary control of expenditures, manage donor funds and prepare financial reports in line with Bangladesh Govt, donor requirements and iDE regulations;
∎ Plan and implement project activities through the preparation of multiyear and annual work plans;
∎ Ensure regular and thorough communication with field-based project staff and cooperating partners, government agencies, NGOs, business associations, private sector organizations and clients.
∎ Provide input for periodic reports (quarterly, semi-annual, and annual) and complete templates for impact stories to provide on a monthly basis.
∎ Monitoring and Evaluation:
∎ Oversee project monitoring & evaluation and ensure adherence to reporting requirements;
∎ Monitor progress of field team and provide regular updates to the Project Manager, Team Leader, and senior leadership team where required;
∎ Coordination and Support:
∎ Coordinate and work collaboratively with donors, project partners and stakeholders and private-sector organizations
∎ Other Responsibilities:
∎ Work collaboratively and coordinate with local government agencies and administrations, represent the project at local level and collect NOCs from local Govt administration as per project requirements.

Additional Requirements:
∎ A successful Field Coordinator will have the following skills and experience and will be comfortable with the following conditions.
∎ Work Experience:
∎ Minimum 8 years' experience of working in implementing market development projects with minimum 3 years in management role;
∎ Demonstrated excellent project management skills; leadership and operational capabilities which resulted in achievement of targets;
∎ Prior experience working in the context of USAID or similar donor funded agricultural development projects is preferable
∎ Must understand and be able to articulate the roles of the private sector, government and civil society/NGOs in creating an effective service market;
∎ Experience of value chain approaches to market development and sub-sector analysis;
∎ Demonstrated ability to coordinate and collaborate effectively with various stakeholders including government agencies, research and private sector service providers;
∎ Demonstrated ability to manage people, financial and administrative systems;
∎ Management and Technical Skills:
∎ Having capabilities to manage a team consisting members from multi-disciplinary background/multi-cultural society.
∎ Experience in conducting annual performance review, human resource development planning and facilitate process to keep the team members highly motivated.
∎ Considerable understanding and knowledge of rural markets, trading relationships and rural service provision;
∎ Experience of providing business planning training including profit analysis;
∎ Experience on program budgeting, expenditures tracking and monitoring and financial reporting.
∎ Good understanding of the technical, social and economic constraints at the field level;
∎ Personal Skills:
∎ Excellent interpersonal, facilitation and leadership skills
∎ Self-motivated, energetic and team player
∎ Good analytical skills and problem-solving skills
∎ Ability to think creatively and encourage field staff to take initiative
∎ Prepared to undertake frequent field visits and extensive travel in rural context
∎ Ability to adapt and work with all genders, religions, nationalities and ages
∎ Must have valid MC driving license and willing to work under pressure in remote areas.
∎ Proficient in the use of Microsoft Office including Excel, Power-point, Word and Google Apps.
∎ Strong written and oral communication skills in English and Bangla with an ability to produce regular written reports and present coherent and convincing messages to different audiences
