Job Context:
∎ BADAS-Centre for Health Research and Implementation (BADAS-CHRI), formerly BADAS- Perinatal Care Project, is a joint collaboration between the Diabetic Association of Bangladesh (BADAS), Institute for Global Health (IGH) University College London and Department of Health Sciences, University of York, UK which has been working since 2002 on diverse health issues including non-communicable diseases. BADAS-CHRI is looking for a qualified candidate for the position of `Facilitator` for its "Developing and evaluating an adapted behavioural activation intervention for people with depression and diabetes in South Asia (DiaDem)" project.
∎ Duration: 06 months, possibility of extension for an additional 06 months
Job Responsibilities:
∎ Recruitment of study participants at BIRDEM General Hospital, Dhaka and Sylhet Diabetic Association Hospital, Sylhet by liaising with doctors and hospital management in both Sylhet and Dhaka
∎ Delivering a new psychological talking therapy in Bangladesh named 'Behavioural Activation' to study participants. It may be mentioned that adequate training will be provided to the newly recruited Facilitator in this matter
∎ Anthropometric measurements (weight, height, circumferences) of study participants including blood pressure measurements
∎ Administer questionnaire to study participants on mobile/tablet
∎ Establishing network and communication with study participants receiving the intervention, their families and health care staff in both Sylhet and Dhaka
∎ Maintaining, monitoring and documenting participant profile and data
∎ All required support to the Research Coordinator and the quantitative and qualitative teams
∎ Regular submission of activity reports to Dhaka office
∎ Development of leaflets, booklets and research materials relevant to the study
∎ Maintaining regular correspondence with the field Staff, members of the project team in Dhaka office
Additional Requirements:
∎ At least 2-3 years experience in health education and other areas mentioned above under responsibilities
∎ Good written and spoken English
∎ Excellent communication skills
∎ Ability and willingness to deliver the 'Behavioural Activation' sessions to study participants with compassion and polite behaviour
∎ Ability to build rapport with the team
∎ Good computer skills (MS Word/ Excel)
Salary: Tk. 20000 - 25000 (Monthly)
