Educational Requirements:
∎ University degree or advanced degree in development studies, natural resource management, forestry, conservation, wildlife biology, fisheries, or related field.

Job Responsibilities:
∎ Work with project teams in Dhaka, Khulna, and Sylhet to assess the current state of environmental monitoring and current data collection processes being implemented by the Government and non-government organizations, e.g., projects, NGOs, and community organizations.
∎ Help plan and implement project-supported activities to enhance monitoring for forest habitats, wetlands, and wildlife.
∎ Engage and coordinate with other Government of Bangladesh and donor projects to ensure coordination and leveraging of activities.
∎ Define specific data collection, management, analysis, reporting, and sharing needs to support conservation management, decision-making, and applied research.
∎ Lead development and implementation of appropriate data collection processes with understanding of current systems and tools and potential constraints to sustainable solutions, working in close collaboration with staff at institutions including the Bangladesh Forest Department, Department of Fisheries, and Department of Environment; approaches may range from forest and wetland patrolling and biodiversity monitoring to remote sensing.
∎ Support integration of data with existing systems and programs with relevant institutions.

Additional Requirements:
∎ Experience in environment monitoring and field data collection, management, analysis, and reporting for forest habitats, wetlands, wildlife and/or similar applications.
∎ Experience in data collection and management tools and systems such as CyberTracker, SMART, Open Data Kit, Resource Information Management System (RIMS), GIS, remote sensing tools and mapping, and others.
∎ Experience in data and monitoring quality assurance and quality control, including ensuring data integrity and security.
∎ Understanding and experience preferred with existing relevant government, donor, or other relevant monitoring efforts in Bangladesh, especially for forests, wetlands, and wildlife.
∎ High level of fluency in English.
