Job Context:
∎ iDE Bangladesh is looking for a qualified Enterprise Development Specialist for the anticipated Enterprise Development Project.
∎ The Enterprise Development Specialist is responsible support the project manager and management team to facilitate and frame the strategic direction of the project. In addition to that he/ she is accountable to design and guide the implementation of project interventions and enterprise development activities based on the project`s requirement or context. In alliance with the assigned M&E expert, keep informed and track progress towards project`s goals and desired outcomes related to development and strengthening of Village Development Organizations (VDOs), microenterprises and the wider market ecosystem. Also with that, ensuring the application of iDE`s market system approach and thoroughly work with market actors specific to selected value chains and business groups/actors.
∎ Reporting Line: Sr. Manager-Enterprise Development

Job Responsibilities:
∎ The responsibilities of the Enterprise Development Specialist include but are not limited to the descriptions below.
∎ General Responsibilities:
∎ Under the supervision of the Sr. manager, function as the primary technical lead for the project
∎ Support the Sr. manager and management team to facilitate and frame the strategic direction of the project;
∎ Design and guide the implementation of project interventions and enterprise development activities based on the project's Theory of Change and Results Framework
∎ In collaboration with the assigned M&E expert, update and track progress towards project's goals and desired outcomes related to development and strengthening of Village Development Organizations (VDOs), microenterprises and the wider market ecosystem
∎ Coordinate and oversee initial rapid market and value chain assessments
∎ Using elements of Human Centered Design, and in collaboration with the project's private sector partners, research, design, develop and refine, initial business models for priority enterprises including last-mile agricultural entrepreneurs, ag mechanization service providers, paravets and livestock service providers, collection points for agricultural commodities, biodigesters, solar microgrids, and women entrepreneur door-to-door sales agents.
∎ Develop and implement a methodology for a Training Needs Assessment of Community / VDOs and participating MSMEs. Based on the results of the assessment, coordinate and supervise development of required training curriculums, including business planning, business skills, and entrepreneurship training
∎ Provide guidance, technical oversight and quality assurance to the field team in training and capacity building activities for VDO's and supported enterprises
∎ Develop and maintain relationships and work closely with local market actors, including national and local government, private sector, community, NGOs, other donors
∎ Work with financial institutions to develop strategies and means to facilitate access to finance for beneficiary entrepreneurs and enterprises in accordance with the project implementation strategy
∎ Planning, and Strategy Development:
∎ Collaboratively plan and implement project activities through the preparation of multiyear and annual work plans in collaboration with the Technical Specialists and consortium partners
∎ Ensure the application of iDE's market system approach and closely work with market actors specific to selected value chains and business groups/actors
∎ Assist the Field Team Leader in planning and provide technical guidance for strategy formulation and implementation to achieve required project outcomes
∎ Reporting and Submissions:
∎ Assist the Sr. Manager in the development and submission of timely donor reports on monthly, quarterly and yearly basis as determined in the contract
∎ Develop and maintain other required project documentation as required
∎ Present progress report and other reports in a regular basis, document the key learning & findings, ensure accurate and timely data entry into the database
∎ Monitoring and Evaluation:
∎ Support the assigned Monitoring and Evaluation Expert in data quality control and timely entry of project data into project M&E databases
∎ Work with the M&E expert and field teams to review and revise the project's monitoring and results measurement (MRM) plans; as part of the plan, ensure monitoring of market linkages, and collection of regular sales data from beneficiary enterprises
∎ Actively engage in initiating best practices, key learnings, unique cases and other relevant documentation to share with the wider team
∎ Supervisor and Staff Development:
∎ Provides close and supportive oversight and guidance to the field team and other stakeholders in the assigned areas to demonstrate outcomes and impact
∎ Other Responsibilities:
∎ Represent iDE at external events and meetings as agreed with supervisor
∎ Participate in relevant meetings and workshops
∎ Undertake additional tasks subject to workload and skill sets such as project communication/visibilty, cross-project trainings and evaluations

Additional Requirements:
∎ Work Experience:
∎ At least 1 year of experience in international development project implementation, preferably with a focus on enterprise development, agriculture, and market systems.
∎ Experience in market systems development programs; advanced understanding of value chain approaches, rural markets, rural service provision, and private sector engagement
∎ Strong knowledge and experience on best practices for gender equity and women's empowerment, particularly relating to agriculture and/or markets
∎ Experience conducting trainings and facilitating group discussions
∎ Knowledge and experience in the area of renewable energy and climate mitigation and adaptation desirable
∎ Personal Skills:
∎ Strong facilitation skills
∎ Ability to work in a multicultural environmental with both national and expatriate team members and flexibility to adapt to different work conditions
∎ Ability to interact and collaborate with a broad range of public and private sector and NGO partners
∎ Physical and Language Skills:
∎ Ability to travel and undertake field work in rural contexts
∎ Strong written and oral communication skills in English and Bangla, including ability to present coherent and convincing messages to different audiences
∎ Strong computer skills in Microsoft Office, email and the internet
∎ Familiarity with internet based software systems such as Google App
∎ Excellent presentation design skills with visual graphic for targeted audiences
∎ Other Information and Conditions:
∎ This is a full-time position with iDE Bangladesh
∎ The Enterprise Development Specialist must maintain confidentiality of all work-related information and documents in accordance with iDE policy.
