Educational Requirements:

Master degree in English/Education/Academic Management/Programme Coordination or any other relevant discipline. Relevant certifications or qualifications in ESL teaching or related fields are highly desirable.

Job Context:
∎ Project Brief:
∎ A National NGO is implementing a multi-year skills development project as part of a joint Initiative of a consortium in the refugee camps of Cox`s Bazar. The Project aims to assist refugees to acquire transferable and portable skills relevant to the labour market needs in Myanmar and the camp contexts, that would support sustainable return and integration (in Myanmar) when conditions permit; while enabling refugees to maintain hope for the future and have dignified and productive lives in the camps, including through engagement in multi-sectorial camp-based activities, minor livelihood activities, and community works, with the utilisation of acquired competencies.
∎ Part I: Job Statement:
∎ The EFLLST is the key person who is responsible for planning and contributing towards the curriculum development and delivery of English as Foreign Language and basic Life Skills programs under the project for the targeted beneficiaries at camp level. The EFLLST will be responsible for developing, overseeing and coordinating the course in the refugee camps where designated training centers are established by UNHCR. S/he will ensure timely delivery of the course modules under a 160 hours Guided Learning Hour (GLH) modality, following the humanitarian principles and sector guidelines and standard. S/he will closely work with the Skill Development Manager (SDM) to develop the training curriculum for the refugee beneficiaries. S/he will perform his/her task with close collaboration and under the supervision of Project Manager.

Job Responsibilities:
∎ A. Key Activities:
∎ Creating and implementing a well-organized training program that encompasses English language proficiency, cultural orientation, and essential life skills including basic ICT necessary for resettlement.
∎ Performing a comprehensive needs assessment to determine the precise language requirements and life skills needs of the participants.
∎ Designing tailored training materials and resources to effectively facilitate the delivery of the program.
∎ Supervising effective implementation of all course and curriculum related activities for selected refugee learners and ensure compliance to all performance standards, policies and objectives and perform regular academic and administration tests and perform assessment for same.
∎ Providing training to learners on essential language skills required to effectively communicate and function within an English-speaking community. These skills encompass speaking, listening, writing, and reading.
∎ Delivering training on fundamental ICT skills, including proficiency in using MS Office packages and conducting email communication.
∎ Employing a range of pedagogical methods to facilitate effective learning, such as direct instruction, paired learning, group work, projects, essays, games, multimedia resources, and audio-visual materials.
∎ Assisting learners in comprehending cultural norms prevalent in developed society. This involves acquiring knowledge about diverse topics like customary food from different countries, clothing etiquette, and familiarity with common laws and government regulations.
∎ Help and guide the designated team member to develop monitoring tools according to the project indicators and submit to the higher management in time.
∎ To ensure that the codes of conduct in line with the organizational policy are being strictly maintained & all staff members are fully oriented with safeguarding and PSEA rules.
∎ B. Reporting Activities:
∎ Regular monthly report, progress and achievement for both organization's management and the partners.
∎ Maintain appropriate records of quality assurance, assessment, registration and certification activities.
∎ Disseminate information and feedback from monitoring activities and ensure all actions are addressed by indicated timescales.
∎ C. General:
∎ Assist project implementation team in conducting regular/monthly and need based meetings
∎ Regularly update the senior management on project progress and challenges in the field and ensure their timely solutions.
∎ Ensure logistics and security to the project's staff as per organization's policies and procedures in coordination with Logistics department.
∎ Create congenial/friendly working environment for all staff members and ensure appropriate learning culture adhering to all safeguarding issues.
∎ Attend training/orientation as and when asked by the organization/ project management and participate in meetings, workshops and other events organized by other stakeholders and represent the project
∎ Perform any other related duties or responsibilities when assigned by the organization/ project management.

Additional Requirements:
∎ The ideal candidate for the English Language and Life Skills Trainer position should possess the following qualifications and experience:
∎ Academic Qualification and Experience:
∎ Minimum 05 years of professional experience in the relevant field.
∎ Proven experience in delivering training programs specifically tailored to individuals preparing for resettlement.
∎ Expertise in developing and adapting training materials and resources to meet the needs of diverse learners.
∎ Familiarity with language proficiency assessments and evaluation methods.
∎ Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to establish a supportive and inclusive learning environment.
∎ Knowledge of resettlement processes and the socio-cultural context of developed society.
∎ Experience of working in the Rohingya Camp and adjacent host community context will be preferred.
∎ Skills:
∎ Strong analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making capabilities.
∎ Excellent teamwork, and a proven track record of building trust within and empowering teams.
∎ Excellent verbal and written communication, presentation and reporting skills in English and effective interpersonal and negotiation skills, proven through successful interactions with all levels of stakeholder groups.
∎ Having a non-discriminatory and child protection lens of working.

Salary:
∎ BDT 90,000/month (inclusive all)
