Job Responsibilities:
∎ As a Senior Counselor at Education Connect, you will play a critical role in guiding and supporting students and their families throughout the educational decision-making process. Your primary responsibilities will include:
∎ Student Counseling: Provide expert guidance and counseling services to students, assisting them in making informed decisions about their educational and career paths. Understand their goals, interests, and strengths to recommend appropriate academic programs.
∎ College/University Selection: Assist students in researching and shortlisting suitable colleges and universities based on their preferences, academic background, and career aspirations. Provide information on admission requirements, application procedures, and scholarship opportunities.
∎ Admission Process: Guide students through the complete admission process, including application submission, document verification, and interview preparation. Ensure that students meet deadlines and fulfill all necessary requirements.
∎ Academic and Career Planning: Collaborate with students to develop personalized academic and career plans, helping them align their goals with suitable educational pathways. Provide advice on course selection, credit transfers, and internships.
∎ Scholarship and Financial Aid: Assist students in exploring scholarship opportunities and financial aid options. Provide guidance on writing scholarship essays, preparing financial documentation, and meeting scholarship application deadlines.
∎ International Education: Advise students on studying abroad opportunities, including selecting countries, universities, and programs that match their interests and academic goals. Provide information on visa requirements, language proficiency tests, and cultural adaptation.
∎ Networking and Relationship Building: Establish and maintain strong relationships with colleges, universities, and educational institutions to stay updated on program offerings, admission policies, and scholarships. Attend education fairs and networking events to build connections and expand opportunities for students.
∎ Application Review: Review student applications, personal statements, resumes, and recommendation letters, providing feedback and suggestions for improvement. Ensure that applications are well-presented and highlight students' strengths effectively.
∎ Team Leadership: Provide guidance and mentorship to junior counselors, assisting them in developing counseling skills and knowledge of the education landscape. Collaborate with the counseling team to enhance services and maintain high standards of counseling excellence.
∎ Professional Development: Stay updated with trends and developments in the education sector, attend conferences and workshops, and participate in ongoing professional development activities to enhance counseling skills and knowledge.
Additional Requirements:
∎ Age at least 20 years
∎ Qualifications and Skills:
∎ Extensive experience in educational counseling, preferably in a senior counseling role.
∎ Strong knowledge of academic programs, admission processes, and career development.
∎ Excellent counseling and communication skills, with the ability to build rapport and establish trust with students and families.
∎ In-depth understanding of international education systems and study abroad opportunities.
∎ Knowledge of scholarships, financial aid, and funding options for higher education.
∎ Familiarity with college admission tests, such as SAT, PTE, and IELTS.
∎ Proficiency in utilizing counseling tools, software, and online resources.
∎ Leadership abilities to mentor and guide junior counselors.
∎ Excellent organizational and time management skills.
∎ Cultural sensitivity and ability to work with diverse student populations.
