Responsibilities & Context:

Chittagong Independent University (CIU) is seeking a highly qualified and experienced individual to join as the Director, Planning & Development and Operations & Maintenance.

Duties and responsibilities:

  • To lead and supervise the P&D team in planning and managing major construction projects from design to completion and handover

  • To oversee civil construction, maintenance, renovation, and campus development projects: prepare development plans, cost estimates, and annual budgets, ensuring effective and timely execution

  • To lead and supervise the O&M team (Engineers, Office Staff, and Technicians) to ensure smooth operation and maintenance of all campus utility systems, Including electrical, HVAC system & other ACs, fire safety, water supply, STP, lifts, and generators

  • To ensure projects are delivered safely, on time, within budget, and in compliance with quality and regulatory standards

  • To manage overall project performance by leading multidisciplinary engineering teams with strong control over technical, financial, and risk aspects

  • To act as liaison between the University, consultants, contractors, and management to ensure effective coordination and alignment with institutional goals

  • To promote innovation, sustainability, safety, teamwork, and accountability
