∎ POSITION SUMMARY: The Director, Local Government Coordination & Capacity Development will be responsible for providing technical leadership for a high-quality, results-oriented program focused on improving the learning outcomes of Bangladeshi children and youth in Bangladesh who have been impacted by the Rohingya crisis by: increasing learning outcomes; improving quality of education, increasing sub-district and community capacity to plan, manage and oversee education; and increasing school capacity to prepare and respond to natural disasters.
Job Responsibilities:
∎ The Director, Local Government Coordination & Capacity Development is responsible for leading technical work under aimed to increase the capacity of local government coordination. Working closely with other program staff and partners, s/he will lead the design and implementation of activities that increase the effectiveness of networking among government stakeholders; and help local government entities identify and improve their organizational development priorities.

∎ Specific responsibilities include:
∎
∎ Work with local government partners at District and Upazilla level;
∎ Facilitate coordination and networking among various government partners to maximize the breadth and impact of their advocacy on issues of children's education;
∎ Provide training to local government and community activists on networking to prevent and respond to access to children's education;
∎ Build organizational capacity of sub-grantees' in line with their own organizational development priorities;
∎ Improve the organizational management of local government partners;
∎ Contribute to development of tools and indicators for monitoring and evaluation;
∎ Provide technical assistance to project staff and partners, and serve as an advisor to the Chief of Party
∎ Contribute to the development of annual work-plans, M&E Plan, and program progress reports.
∎ Other duties as assigned.
Additional Requirements:
∎ Applicants must have a minimum of 8 years' experience working to build organizational development of particularly in the areas of strategic planning, monitoring and evaluation, financial management, operations and human resources.
∎ Demonstrated experience in forging collaborative activities, networks and coalitions among government stakeholders in policy and advocacy - preferably in areas related to gender
∎ Experience using facilitative, participatory approaches to organizational development
∎ Experience working with varying levels of government including district, Upazilla and quasi-governmental organizations
∎ Experience designing and implementing organizational capacity assessments and other assessment tools
∎ Experience working in Bangladesh
∎ Skills/ Knowledge:
∎ Demonstrated effective training and coaching skills, networking, interpersonal skills, creative problem solving, conflict, and ethical management skills.
∎ Fluency in Bangla and English required.
∎ Excellent written and oral communication skills.
∎ Computer literate in Microsoft Word, Excel and Powerpoint
