Responsibilities & Context:

• Operate, inspect, maintain and troubleshoot diesel engines, diesel generators and related mechanical equipment.

• Perform regular preventive and corrective maintenance of diesel engines and generators to ensure uninterrupted operation.

• Diagnose mechanical and electrical faults and take necessary corrective measures.

• Check engine oil, coolant, fuel system, batteries, belts, filters, hoses and other engine components regularly.

• Carry out routine servicing, oil changes, filter replacement, lubrication and adjustment of engine components.

• Monitor engine performance, temperature, pressure, fuel consumption, vibration and unusual noise during operation.

• Identify mechanical problems at an early stage and take preventive action to avoid major breakdowns.

• Maintain proper records of maintenance activities, engine running hours, servicing schedules, spare parts and breakdowns.

• Coordinate with the Warehouse and Maintenance teams regarding equipment requirements, breakdowns and maintenance schedules.

• Ensure the availability and proper use of necessary tools, spare parts, lubricants and maintenance materials.

• Follow manufacturer guidelines and company-approved maintenance procedures.

• Ensure proper safety practices while operating and maintaining diesel engines and associated equipment.

• Maintain cleanliness and good housekeeping around the engine/generator area.

• Support emergency breakdown maintenance whenever required.

• Perform any other duties assigned by the management or supervisor.
