Education:

• Bachelor of Science (BSc) in Computer Science & Engineering

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Statistics, Mathematics or a relevant field.

• Proven experience in data entry, data management, or administrative roles.

• Proficiency in Google tools (Google Docs, Sheets), Microsoft Office tools (Word, Excel), Quickbooks Online, etc.

• Strong attention to detail and ability to identify errors in datasets.

• Good command of English (spoken and written) and Bangla.

• Strong organizational and communication skills with the ability to coordinate across multiple teams.

• Ability to work independently and remotely, manage deadlines, and handle sensitive data with integrity.

Uttaran Paani is a social enterprise initiative of Uttaran, a leading grassroots NGO in Bangladesh. Operating in the water-scarce and salinity-affected region of Southwest Bangladesh, Uttaran Paani manages multiple Reverse Osmosis (RO) water purification plants that deliver safe, affordable drinking water to underserved communities. Uttaran Paani operates in partnership with 1001fontaines, a French non-profit association whose goal is to ensure everyone can drink safe water and enjoy improved health.

Position Overview

The Data Management Officer will be responsible for ensuring the accuracy, timelines, and integrity of sales and customer data across multiple water treatment plants. The role requires meticulous data entry, cross-checking of sales records, preparation of analytical reports, and effective communication with plant, finance, marketing, and distribution teams. This position is central to maintaining operational transparency, supporting financial accountability, and strengthening data-driven decision-making.

Key Responsibilities

• Enter and update daily sales data from multiple water treatment plants.

• Maintain plant-specific Google Sheets for organized data storage and reporting.

• Track sales sheet submissions by drivers, report irregularities to Plant Operation Managers, and follow up on missing entries.

• Verify hard-copy sales sheets for errors and inconsistencies, ensuring alignment with digital records.

• Manage the customer database: handle new customer information, assign customer codes, and coordinate with marketing officers for timely data delivery.

• Work closely with the Senior Finance Officer to ensure accuracy and reconciliation of sales data.

• Communicate with marketing and distribution teams to monitor due sales, outstanding debts, and overall revenue collection.

• Prepare daily and monthly visual reports (charts, dashboards) on sales sheet submission and sales data accuracy.

• Identify and report gaps or errors in sales records, proposing corrective actions to Plant Operation Managers.

• Maintain regular communication with teams abroad from the partner organization on data management issues and contribute to improving practices.
