Responsibilities & Context:
  • Develop concepts, guidelines, and strategies for local climate governance and gender-sensitive climate resilience.

  • Lead project efforts to establish effective governance structures (e.g., specific committees) or processes (dedicated mechanisms to allocate resources) by local governments to promote gender-sensitive climate resilience in project areas.

  • Ensure that project planning, monitoring, and implementation processes have built-in gender perspective.

  • Provide technical support for integrating & monitoring gender-sensitive indicators into the project M&E framework and regularly review data collected from gender-sensitive indicators.

  • Develop IEC materials to improve women's access to services from local governments.

  • Promote national climate change and gender-related policies and strategies at the local level.

  • Conduct training and technical coaching to promote gender-sensitive approaches for climate resilience.

  • Promote the importance of gender-sensitive climate resilience at different forums to influence policy changes.

  • Develop knowledge products (case stories, blogs, articles, briefs, etc.) based on the project's learnings and achievements for various stakeholders.

  • Engage with local communities, especially women, to understand their specific needs and challenges related to climate resilience
