Job Responsibilities:
∎ Conduct research and analysis to identify villages with a high prevalence of avoidable blindness.
∎ Develop and implement strategies to engage and mobilize community members in the selected villages.
∎ Ensure the availability and maintenance of necessary equipment, instruments, and supplies for efficient eye care service delivery.
∎ Supervise the door-to-door survey conducted by the Community Health Worker (CHW) for ABFVP, ensuring the accuracy of the survey findings and assisting the team in organizing health classes and mobile eye clinic programs.
∎ Liaise with eye care facilities and hospitals to ensure timely and accessible treatment for identified cases of avoidable blindness.
∎ Coordinate with administration office and donor focal to manage the staffing, scheduling, and training of vision center personnel.
∎ Mobilizing data for preparation of required reports and ensuring to submit those in timely manner.
∎ Working closely with stakeholders and field offices and have frequent visit to the implementation areas.
∎ Establish and maintain strong relationships with key stakeholders, including government agencies, healthcare providers, and community-based organizations.
∎ Collaborate with local community leaders, organizations, and NGOs to raise awareness about eye health and the importance of regular eye check-ups.
∎ Conduct outreach programs, camps, screening program and educational sessions to promote eye health and prevent avoidable blindness.
∎ Maintaining good communication practices with the core team at Country Office, Dhaka and side by side donor focal point.
∎ Provide training, mentorship and guidance to project-based staff and ensure vision center management standards are in practice.
∎ Perform comprehensive eye examinations, diagnose and treat eye diseases, and provide appropriate interventions.
∎ Prescribe and dispense eyeglasses, contact lenses, and other vision aids.
∎ Manage and monitor patients with chronic eye conditions, ensuring appropriate follow-up and referral when necessary.
∎ Maintain accurate and up-to-date records of patient consultations, treatments, surgeries, and other relevant data.
∎ Prepare regular reports on the vision centre’s activities, including patient demographics, outcomes, and challenges faced.
∎ Submit required reports timely to the authorities, and funding organizations.
∎ Coordinate and organize technical events, meetings, trainings, workshops, and dialogues as per project needs.
∎ Provide high level supervisory and managerial support to the project team for developing their technical skills and professional competencies.
∎ Organize and facilitate meetings to officially declare villages as avoidable blindness free.
∎ Implement Participatory Approach to Community Eye Health (PACEH) principles to engage the community in decision-making processes related to eye health.
∎ Foster partnerships and collaborations between community members, healthcare providers, and relevant organizations.
∎ Prepare presentations and reports showcasing the achievements and impact of the program.
∎ Execute additional tasks as assigned or delegated by the supervisor and the management teams at the Country Office.

Additional Requirements:
∎ Age 30 to 42 years
∎ Both males and females are allowed to apply
∎ Have time management, leadership, analytical ability, multitasking, facilitation;
∎ communication, presentation and report writing skills;
∎ Have adaptability, teamwork, relationship building and change management skills;
∎ Previous experience of working in Avoidable Blindness Free Village Program will be added as extra skills
∎ Excellent command on MS Word, MS PowerPoint; very good command on MS Excel.
∎ Have outstanding skills and expertise at communicating by email and internet.
∎ High level English language proficiency (speaking, reading, writing).
