Job Context:
∎ The Communication and Knowledge Management Specialist is responsible for leading BIeNGS (Bangladesh Initiative to Enhance Nutrition Security and Governance) Project evidenced-based advocacy/stakeholders communications that identify and tackles critical multi-sectoral nutrition issues impacting maternal and child nutrition of 153,825 nutritionally vulnerable families (1,701,100 people) in Jamalpur and Sherpur districts, and strengthen health and nutrition service delivery systems through a pro-poor governance model.
∎ S/he must ensure there is a consistent and collaborative advocacy/communication approach and strategies across the BIeNGS consortium partners. Core to this role will also be working with the wider project team and partners to ensure that World Vision Bangladesh has high-quality, innovative, and effective organizational communication both internally and externally.
∎ S/he must work to identify the skills gaps and take action to build the capacity of project teams and partners to achieve the specified advocacy objectives of the BIeNGS project maintaining the highest possible quality and standards and communicating to all audiences in a dignified and appropriate manner.
Job Responsibilities:
∎ Oversee and ensure advocacy/stakeholders communications activities strategically through designing and overseeing the development of a responsive plan & initiatives in consultation with the National office and project team
∎ Implement approach/model/tools that contribute to competency development and integration of advocacy which contribute to positive changes among people's behavior towards to address the behavioral aspects of positive nutrition practices along with the social factors that influence the adoption and maintenance of those behaviors, whilst engaging in health systems strengthening to ensure effective delivery of quality nutrition interventions within the health system.
∎ Promote local level community participation in nutrition governance by facilitating social monitoring of nutrition and agricultural services using Citizen Voice and Action (CVA) social accountability model.
∎ Ensure equipping field staff, programs/projects participants/groups with required skills knowledge tools, and partners in building capacity to design and implement advocacy initiatives at all levels.
∎ Oversight and ensure the process, monitoring the advocacy initiatives, CVA database, analysis and produce necessary reports of Social Accountability component (CVA Approach) of the project.
∎ Proactively engage with key policymakers, Divisional and District level decision-makers and service providers, Donors, partners, faith leaders, children, youths, and media to enhance the project's credibility and influence changes of policy to take actions for a sustainable local mechanism contributing to reduced stunting, wasting and underweight.
∎ Develop, maintain a sustainable collaboration/network/coalition with agencies, GoB, UN, I/NGOs, Forums, Clusters, Alliances, Policymakers, Policy influencers, local Govt. officials, NGO platforms, CBO, UNDC, VDC, clubs, groups, committees to improve service delivery to ensure improved maternal and child nutrition and health in the working areas.
∎ Capture, document, and share best practices, success stories, and lessons learned and prepare policy briefs and articles from research and sharing with both internal and external stakeholders on a regular basis and ensure digital storage of all the relevant documents.
∎ Ensure proper documentation of program accountability implementation including best practices.
Additional Requirements:
∎ Ability to work in a very organized manner with high-level skills in planning, interpersonal communication, presentation, and coordination
∎ Experienced in pre-testing and concept testing advocacy and campaign tools, approaches, methodologies, and content;
∎ Proven advocacy and knowledge management ability
∎ Excellent writing and verbal communication skills;
∎ Strong analytical and networking skills
∎ Experience of working within a network or consortium
∎ Competent in the use of Microsoft Office computer programs including Word, Excel, and PowerPoint
∎ At least eight (08) years progressively responsible professional work experience in a development organization/non-governmental organization.
∎ At least 3 years' closely related experience with a proven ability to apply advocacy and techniques for pro-poor development at local and national levels
∎ Understand advocacy theory, process, and practice.
∎ Proven ability to write and produce publications/reports
