What You'll Do

• Pre-Production Planning: Read scripts, plan shot lists, scout locations, and test lighting or camera angles with the director.
• A good knowledge of common shooting gear and equipment including cameras, lenses, lighting, gimbals, microphones will be developed.
• Equipment Selection: Choose the right cameras, specialized lenses, filters, and support gear to match the creative style and budget.
• Crew Management: Hire and direct key crew members, including camera operators, the gaffer (chief lighting technician), and key grips.
• On-Set Execution: Oversee lighting design, block actor movements with the camera, frame every shot, and maintain visual continuity.
• Post-Production Oversight: Review raw footage and work closely with colorists during color grading to finalize the visual look.
