Job Context:
∎ STATUS: Full-time; contingent upon continuation of donor funding
∎ REPORTS TO: Deputy Chief of Party (DCOP)
Job Responsibilities:
∎ Leads incorporation, monitoring, and technical assistance of child marriage activities within components, including policies and laws related to child marriage; communications to target high-prevalence child marriage communities; services for survivors.
∎ Conducts training and leads research, networking, and policy implementation related to child marriage.
∎ Takes part in subgrantee selection and award process and monitors budget and implementation against targets.
∎ Develops Terms of Reference (TORs) for consultants.
∎ Contributes to program strategy and develops program communications and reporting on child marriage component achievements.
∎ Designs and facilitates training sessions for key stakeholders including members of Marriage Registrars' Association, child marriage prevention committees, and gender-based violence committees.
∎ Provides input on gender-responsive programming, child rights, cultural and traditional nuances of child marriage practices in Bangladesh, and pathways to re-establish education for out-of-schoolgirls.
Additional Requirements:
∎ Minimum of six years' experience managing and implementing complex child marriage activities for international development projects, preferably with USAID.
∎ Solid knowledge of child marriage, human trafficking and gender-based violence related issues.
∎ Solid knowledge of child marriage related national and international laws and rules.
∎ Experience developing program communications and reports on child marriage successes.
∎ Experience conducting a large number of training activities for senior officials.
∎ Strong interpersonal skills and ability to work in teams and in a multi-cultural environment.
∎ Experience developing and managing subgrants.
∎ Familiarity with USAID DRG portfolio strongly preferred.
∎ Fluent Bangla and English.
∎ Microsoft Office Skills.
∎ Strong oral and written communication skills.
∎ Strong interpersonal skills and ability to work in teams and in a multi-cultural environment.
∎ Ability to work independently with minimal oversight and manage multiple competing priorities and activities.
∎ Ability to travel frequently to project areas.
