Responsibilities & Context:

The Premier Bank PLC, a leading third-generation private commercial bank, invites applications from competent, experienced, and dynamic professionals for the position of Chief Legal Officer (CLO) to strengthen its Legal Division in line with Bangladesh Bank guidelines.

Job Responsibilities:

• Formulate legal strategies, policies, and procedures for effective handling of all legal matters, especially loan-related litigations under direct supervision of the Managing Director & CEO.

• Ensure prompt disposal and efficient management of cases filed in Artha Rin Adalat, High Court Division, and Appellate Division of the Supreme Court.

• Oversee all litigation, legal risk management, and compliance issues of the Bank.

• Coordinate with panel lawyers and ensure effective case follow-up and representation.

• Prepare and submit monthly progress reports to the Managing Director & CEO and quarterly reports to the Board of Directors.

• Ensure proper documentation, legal support, and advisory services across all divisions and branches.

• Set performance targets for legal recovery and take initiatives for reduction of classified loans.

• Supervise, guide, and develop legal team members through training and capacity building.
