• At least 10 years

• Bachelor of Law (LLB)

• Must have L.L.B with L.L.M from a reputed University having no third class/division in academic career.
• Candidates who are enrolled as member of Bar Council or practicing as a Lawyer in Judges' Court (especially in Dhaka Judge Court) /High Court in Bangladesh will be given preference.
• Candidates with Bar at Law/ having Phd or any other higher degree in Law/ Legal Affairs will be given preference.

• At least 10 years

• At least 10-year job experience in the related field out of which 5 years’ experience in working with a Legal Team/ department of a Bank/ FI

• Should have knowledge regarding different types of Circular of Bangladesh Bank and other regulatory bodies and compliance of the circulars/ instructions accordingly.

• Well versed with the regulatory provisions and banking operations including loans & advances, trade finance, general banking, fund management etc.

• Good presentation skills and is proficient in writing/compiling quality reports in English.

• Must have leadership capability to manage and motivate staff.

• Age should not be more than 45 years as on 31.12.2024

Job Description:

• Must have sound knowledge of Orthorin Adalat Aidn, N.I. Act, Companies Act, Bank Company Act, Finance Act, Insurance Act, Labour Laws, Transfer of property Act, 1882, Registration Act, 1908, Principles of Statutory Interpretation, Legal Drafting, Law of Evidence, Contract Act, 1872, Administrative Law, Constitutional Law and other relevant laws (Local/ International)

• Prepare and represent the Bank in legal matters before the Courts of Law, in litigation, arbitration or other legal proceedings on matters in which the Bank has an interest.

• Draft, review and update all contracts pertaining to the operation of the Bank in collaboration with appropriate staff and participate in negotiations, where necessary.

• Examine and oversee the proper preparation, perfection and safekeeping of all securities/legal documents of the Bank.

• Advise on and interpret the Bank`s policies, procedures, guidelines etc. as per law and provide legal opinion and advise management on legal issues that may arise from time to time;

• Prepare notices required under agreements, initiate and follow-up on legal action on the Bank`s investment recoveries.

• Prepare monthly status reports of legal case, follow-up with the Branches and make recommendations to management;

• Any other tasks as and when required by the Management.

• Evaluating/ Initiating change requests in Core Banking Applications as per the local and parent regulator.
