A. well-established and reputed local business group with cement as its core business is looking for an accomplished and commercially driven Chief Financial Officer (CFO) to lead the Group’s Finance & Accounts function. Approximately 70% of the Group’s business is concentrated in the cement sector; therefore, strong hands-on experience in cement manufacturing is highly preferred. The successful candidate will provide strategic financial leadership across the Group, strengthen financial governance and controls, optimize working capital and profitability, and support sustainable business growth.
The CFO will serve as the strategic financial leader of A. Hossain Group, overseeing financial planning, accounting, treasury, taxation, audit, internal controls, risk management, banking, commercial finance and management reporting across the Group. The role requires a strong understanding of manufacturing economics, particularly cement manufacturing, including production cost, cost per MT, inventory, CAPEX, OPEX, dealer/customer receivables, import/trade finance and plant-level profitability.
Lead the overall Finance & Accounts function and formulate, execute and continuously improve the Group’s financial strategy.
Develop annual budgets, rolling forecasts, cash-flow plans, financial models, management reports and long-term financial plans.
Monitor plant-wise, business-unit-wise, product-wise and customer/dealer-wise profitability and identify opportunities for cost optimization and operational efficiency.
For cement operations, closely monitor production cost, cost per MT, OPEX, CAPEX, inventory consumption, manufacturing variances, gross margin and overall plant profitability.
Manage working capital, cash flow, receivables, payables, inventory, credit exposure and banking facilities to maintain healthy liquidity.
Work closely with Sales & Marketing to ensure timely reconciliation and effective control of dealer/customer ledgers, receivables, collections, credit limits, outstanding balances and related financial transactions.
Oversee LCs, trade finance, import payments, foreign currency exposure, bank facilities, loans and other treasury activities, maintaining strong relationships with banks and financial institutions.
Ensure accurate, timely and compliant financial statements, management accounts, MIS and statutory reporting in accordance with applicable accounting standards and company requirements.
Ensure compliance with applicable tax, VAT, customs, statutory, regulatory and financial reporting requirements and coordinate with external advisers where necessary.
Strengthen internal controls, financial governance, risk management, audit processes, fraud prevention mechanisms and compliance frameworks across the Group.
Lead annual and special audits, coordinate with internal and external auditors, resolve audit observations and ensure timely implementation of agreed corrective actions.
Provide financial and commercial analysis for pricing, procurement, imports, investments, expansion, capital expenditure and other strategic business decisions.
Evaluate major CAPEX proposals, investment projects and business initiatives through financial modelling, ROI analysis, sensitivity analysis and risk assessment.
Establish effective financial controls over procurement, inventory, sales, dealer credit, collections, fixed assets, cash and other key business processes.
Drive ERP/MIS-based financial management, data accuracy, reporting automation and timely availability of reliable financial information to management.
Develop, lead and motivate the Finance & Accounts team, establish performance standards and strengthen professional capability and accountability.
Advise the Managing Director and Senior Management on financial performance, business risks, liquidity, profitability, cost efficiency, financing options and strategic growth opportunities.
Collaborate with Operations, Procurement, Sales & Marketing, Supply Chain, Commercial, HR & Administration and other functions to align financial discipline with business objectives.
Identify financial risks and emerging business issues and recommend practical mitigation measures to protect the Group’s assets, profitability and cash flow.
Undertake any other strategic, financial, commercial or business-related responsibilities and special assignments as directed by Top Management from time to time.
