Education: - Bachelor of Pharmacy (B.Pharm)
- Master of Business Administration (MBA) in Marketing
- Bachelor’s Degree in Pharmacy (B.Pharm) is mandatory.
- A Master’s in Business Administration (MBA) or Marketing is highly preferred.
- Additional certification in Supply Chain or Category Management is a plus.

- Expert knowledge of the pharmaceutical industry, including therapeutic classes, drug regulations, and market dynamics.
- Strong understanding of category management principles, merchandising, and retail pharmacy operations.
- Knowledge of procurement processes, supplier management, and financial analysis.
Technical Skills:
- Advanced proficiency in data analysis tools (e.g., Excel, BI software) for forecasting and performance analysis.
- Strong financial acumen for margin analysis, budgeting, and P&L management for the category.
- Proficiency in using inventory and ERP systems.
Soft Skills:
- Exceptional negotiation and supplier management skills.
- Strategic thinking and analytical problem-solving abilities.
- Excellent communication and presentation skills.
Abilities:
- Ability to analyze complex data to make strategic decisions about product assortment and pricing.
- Ability to build and maintain strong, productive relationships with key suppliers.
- Ability to influence cross-functional teams (marketing, sales, supply chain) to execute category plans.
Responsibilities & Context: Develop and execute the category strategy for a defined portfolio of pharmaceutical products (e.g., chronic care, OTC, wellness).
Conduct thorough market analysis, monitor industry trends, and analyze customer data to identify assortment gaps and new product opportunities.
Manage supplier relationships, including negotiation of terms, pricing, and contracts to achieve optimal cost of goods and favorable payment terms.
Define and implement pricing strategies to remain competitive in the market while achieving margin targets.
Plan and execute promotional campaigns and category-specific marketing initiatives to drive sales and customer acquisition.
Collaborate with the inventory and supply chain teams to forecast demand and ensure optimal stock levels, minimizing out-of-stocks and excess inventory.
Analyze category performance using key metrics (e.g., sales, margin, sell-through, inventory turnover) and present insights to senior management.
Ensure all products within the category comply with relevant regulatory standards.
