Job Responsibilities:
∎ To demonstrate skills in the subject area taught.
∎ To provide planned instruction to students, to monitor performance daily and provide corrective feedback throughout the learning process.
∎ Develop long and short-range plans for instruction. Show written evidence of preparation for classes, both long and short-range.
∎ To vary instructional techniques and use differentiated instructional materials to suit learning styles, motivation levels, needs and capabilities of the students.
∎ Exhibit knowledge and understanding of individual students.
∎ To assess student achievement levels using both formative and summative assessments based on the material covered in class.
∎ To develop and implement a classroom management scheme that emphasizes a tidy and orderly classroom learning environment.
∎ To assess and evaluate student’s abilities, record grades, check and register attendance, send Progress Reports to parents, enter grades on report cards and Managebac as specified by the administration.
∎ To consult with counseling and advancement center regarding individual student problems.
∎ To keep accurate and complete written records of parent conferences, student conferences, behavior discipline incidents and extra student assistance
∎ To be responsible for receiving and maintaining textbooks, study materials, teaching supplies and classroom equipment.
∎ To cooperate with fellow staff members in the sharing and exchanging of materials.
∎ Attend MYP and DP Programme meetings regularly. Inform the IB Coordinators prior to the meeting if you are unable to attend.
∎ Read all subject guides and pertinent parts of From Principles into practice (MYP) and Handbook of Procedures for the Diploma Programme. Register and use the My IB site for programme updates.
∎ Respect and meet ALL deadlines for grade reporting (within the school) and IB deadlines.
∎ Ensure that performance-based assessments (in MYP) and IB DP style assessment tools are used.
∎ Ensure that assessment criteria are carefully used and appropriately interpreted.
∎ Submit MYP Personal Project forms and DP Internal Assessments and forms on time.
∎ For DP Teachers: ensure IB assessment requirements are being completed throughout the DP two year course period and proper documentation is completed.
∎ For DP Teachers: be familiar with the Theory of Knowledge program and integrate it into your teachings as much as possible.
∎ For DP Teachers: submit a course outline for DP classes to show your future progression of the course curriculum.
∎ Perform related duties as assigned by the principal.
Additional Requirements:
∎ Teaching Experience in English Medium School is must
∎ Knowledge in IB Curriculum will get preference
